For OU the answer is Barry Sanders...

His father was a life long OU fan and Barry was OU's for the taking.

They showed only token interest.

The funny part of the story is that Barry's father William continued to root for OU against OSU saying...."I want Barry to do good... but I still want OU to win"...

Thus making William Sanders a legend among OU fans.

Barry never got to see his film. OSU never returned his highlight film to the high school in Wichita, so they were the last to see it.

Honestly, he was a miss for every Texas school, but one day I want to know the story of how Andrew Luck ended up at Stanford, and if he was under recruited by every school or no one had a chance. I don’t recall him being a 5 star in recruiting.

Don't believe this is true.We just weren't in on him early enough but we did offer.

That may be correct. But hard to get a guy late that everyone else already wanted.

I don't know the details of his recruitment or what school he really wanted to go to, but Texas A&M sure whiffed on John Randle in hindsight.

He grew up in the shadow of Kyle Field (Mumford/Hearne).

He earned his degree at a system school: Texas A&M Kingsville.

Now he's HOF

Yep. While as an OU fan I am glad, texsa missed out on a LOT of great QBs from the state of Texas. Mack Daddy seemed to recruit by * rankings, but even after him, some great instate talent did not get a UT offer.

OU didn't offer Mahomes or Mayfield. If not for Mayfield enrolling at OU without Stoops even knowing, OU would have crapped the bed on that.

All these Bama fans on here saying they passed on Bo Jackson. That is totally not true.

You've got fans from multiple schools talking about missing on recruits or asking them to play a position they didn't want to play in this thread about passing on recruits.
Leave it to the Auburn fan to chime in complaining about Bama
There's one maybe two posters who just said Bo, the rest explain it was not recruiting him well enough as opposed to passing on him

Luke Kuechly would have committed to Notre Dame in a heartbeat had they offered him. Charlie Weis's staff didn't think we was good enough.

Pat White,WVU, is always my answer. LSU didn’t offer. Dak Prescott if we had just allowed him to tryout for QB.
