Dude he had a sack, a ff, 2 TFL, and 2 more tackles. He basically made Oregon throw the ball with the way he filled their dive game up the middle. Both are great players and its splitting hairs obviously. But IMO gimme the guy who can impact the game that way defensively and ill take my chances on the QB. No one is saying you have to have another rare QB that can run the spread. IF you have a great defense and a solid running game you can win a MNC with any game manager at QB.

I'm taking Clowney.
I'm using Techmo Bowl logic.
Sure, Joe Montana and Jerry Rice are a great combination, with Lott at safety.
But with the Giants, and LT, you don't need to score 45 points, you only need to score 24 to win.

Using Tecmo bowl logic you would take Manziel. Have you ever played with the Oakland Raiders? You cant stop Bo

Oh, and I vote for Clowney.
JFFs are a dime a dozen ... he's not even that much better than Shaw quite honestly.
Clowney is a once in a lifetime player who takes-up two, or even three of the other team's players so he creates an imbalance in favor of his own defense.
It's a no brainer - Clowney is the only logical choice by anyone not snorting bath salts or smoking crack.
Bump.

UGA and Todd Gurley aren't in the conversation.
Plus... weren't they the LA Raiders at the time?

Defensive players can impact the game in ways people dont see, unlike the QB who is seen on every offensive play. Again I say gimme Clowney, not close.

Defense wins Championships.

Both players were taken out of the game vs LSU last year so I don't know. Manziel was a turnover machine but Clowney gave up on most plays. Would still go with Clowney based on defense alone.

Georgia has all their OLine coming back, two fantastic RBs, and a solid TE in Rome. We don't have any all-star WRs but some very capable guys. I honestly feel like we could drop Joe Cox in there and probably have one of the more productive offenses in the SEC. Our defense, however, is essentially depleted. Not saying some guys won't step up on D, but it would be hard to justify taking Manziel over Clowney based on our needs.
I'd have to take Clowney.

Yes he was a turnover machine in the LSU game. 2/3 of his interceptions were not his fault though. Also had a TD called back because of a numbskull penalty. Just sayin...

Would be interesting to see how the votes break down by school.

Take all the USCe and TAMU fans out of the poll....
Clowney all day, every day.

Really? Clowney, who says different? Then Cooper, Gurley, Yeldon, AJ and CJ.

This will be solved next years draft when shitty teams without QB's take Clowney over Manziel anyway.
