Manziel, LSU's defense doesn't need a Clowney.

Not to mention you can double team or run right at Clowney and take him out of the game. Manziel can score on every snap.

Well, I guess it's better than nothing since it is coming from a Dawg fan.

Clowney. Arkansas has never really had a problem with coming up with good offense. Defense on the other hand...

Play nice.

Tell that to the 2006 Arkansas squad. Casey Dick was the QB and they still went 10-4. RB's and defense can cover up a QB. Just ask LSU and Bama.

Not biting.

Yeah but I'm trying to go all the way not just go 10-4.

A&M had Von Miller and with an ineffective QB we were 3-3 and had only played 1 tough team to that point. Inserted a good QB and won the next 6 games including 2 over Top 10 teams

That one great guy on D isn't as important as a QB

And Von Miller his Jr and Sr year was as good as Clowney has been to date

A bit of a thread hijack here but I still can't believe the SEC stalled on the schedule making and didn't get our series with A&M going. This was the only season they could have had a Manziel vs Clowney matchup. Imagine how easy billing that would've been?

Agreed. That would have been an epic hype matchup. Even A&M and SC fans would have grown sick of all the CBS commercials advertising the game. And it may have actually lived up to the hype.

Personally I reject the OP's question. I want both. But if I am forced to choose one, it's Manziel. As good as Clowney is, he's not going to win a game by himself. JFF - this is arguable, granted, but I think he did exactly that more than once.

As much as I hate to say it, Manziel.

Teams can scheme around a defensive player. It takes sacrifice and leaves open some holes, potentially, but the QB controls each and every play individually.

Your team has no QB, and no noteworthy D-linemen.

Uhhh Manziel. See 2010 Auburn. Without Fairly, who talent wise, isn't that far behind Clowney you probably still make it to the NCG. With Cam you go 8-4.

well maybe you two "third in divisions" should strive for Atlanta. Bama and Georgia sure put on a good show.

Eta: "sure" it's more Suuuuthun.
