Would Texas A&M rather play LSU or Bama?
Both teams offer ties to the Aggies, and neither of them can be perceived as easier to beat---although the Aggies might think differently.

Anyone can hang with LSU. Our offense is that bad.

LSU has no offensive identity. They have playmakers at MOST positions yet are near the bottom in the SEC from a offensive standpoint. Your Offense is offensive
Bama will pound the rock and use their TE's and WR's better with a capable QB.
Defensively...Bama has an edge as well (I know you guys beat them so don't fricking bring it up)

As an A&M fan, I'd like to play both teams for different reasons.
LSU:
-Old rivalry. This will be the 50th time we will have played LSU
-I feel positive our defense would limit LSU, especially in the red zone. Our CBs have not been beat deep once this year. Where you beat us is throwing over the LBs and on the seams.
-LSU defensive line is a little light in the britches up the middle. I do fear PP7 and Sheppard though. Karnell Hatcher, I do not fear.
-I enjoy an ornery fanbase. I enjoy tailgating with Tiger fans.
Bama:
-Coaching ties with the Bear, Gene and the frickface Franchione.
-I was fairly young the last time we played Bama, and don't really remember their fanbase too well. It's always fun mixing it up with someone you don't know all that well.
-As far as the game goes... well, I don't like the idea of playing a Saban team with a month off. If I want a W, I'd lean towards playing a fairly inept LSU offense and Les Miles on the sidelines over a Saban coached team.
-We do stop the run well, so Bama would need to beat us vertical and over the middle.
In the end, I feel Bama is more talented and has better coaching. Its probably a worse matchup for the Aggie team to play Bama. With that said, I believe I would enjoy Bama company before and after the game.
LSU is just nostalgic, and I want to beat their arse.

I'd say LSU.....due to the past rivalry. Plus...they really, really hate us. The older fans do anyway.

I'd rather play LSU, but for me it has more to do with the fact that I have a lot of family in LA and it would make for a good time up in Dallas. I'm not really old enough to remember the rivalry, but that adds to it as well.

Just promise me you'll bring the corndogs.

I don't even want to know what Aggies think corndogs are for.

False.

Big difference in running a crossing route or skinny post for a big gain, and getting beat deep on a vertical or fade.
There was a article on it breaking down the number of plays were the CBs were challenged deep, and not once had they been beaten.
Very few teams have tried to go vertical on us.

oh lawd...the aggies have some form of defense and now they are unstoppable.

I don't think anyone here said we were unstoppable.
We are very vulnerable in the middle of the field. If you can go over the top of the LBs and have a good TE that can work the seams, you stand a good chance of surgically ramming it down our throats.
We're very good against the run, and good on the outside with physical CBs. Safety play is suspect and so is LB pass coverage.

our defense would limit LSU

Where you beat us is throwing over the LBs and on the seams
quote:I wouldn't say Drake Nevis is light in the britches, but we are a little suspect on the ends. We have speed out there, but we rarely collapse a pocket from the outside because of muscle.
LSU defensive line is a little light in the britches up the middle

If you need proof of this, LSU beat UT on the final play of the game.
