Kige...

I didn't really think so before I started this thread. Mainly because there doesn't appear to be too many Florida fans around TD.com, but I've been proven wrong and that it doesn't take many of them. A few will do it. (I still like what they are doing with the program, though. They're on a roll.)

I guess winning or being a contender since 2004 (the departure of Ron Zook) is long enough to act like you've been winning since the inception of football. So much for "act like you've been there before".

Imagine if they were as successful in more sports. Right now, they really only focus on football and ignore the other 19 or so sports until those become more successful.

It's cool to be a fan and hype your program, but don't believe the sun rises and falls on your One program. A down time for your program is inevitable. Enjoy the success. Tease others. But don't be stupid and believe your rhetoric. This goes for LSU fans and others as well. Have fun with it.

Is this about UF, because UF has pretty much been the top athletic program in the conference having won the All-Sports trophy 16 of the last 17 years and will win again this year.

1. Bama
2. Bama
3. Bama

This is only if they would win a bowl game other than the Indy Bowl.

Everyone says we LSU fans were getting pretty obnoxious over our football success until we went 8-4 and let two teams hang fitty on us.

Gosh, I wish we could be more like Bama fans who are just so classy because they learned how to be winners so long ago. When you think about it, half of your fan base were not even old enough to be college football fans when the bear had yall winning. Yall are the most pathetic, desperate losers in the SEC. I guess that is what happens when you live in a state that has absoultely zero going on outside of college football. Yall were so jealous of LSU's recent success that you went out and hired our old coach. Now after one year of "winning with Shula's players" and an easy arse shedule, you are "back". Take a closer look at Saban's history. On one year, off the next. This is his off year. Even he knows it, that is why he is working so hard to tame expectations. Good luck doing that with those nutballs.

Some programs should forever be cellar-dwellers and never allowed to taste success.

Why Ole Miss is my #1 for this thread...

I will personally guarantee that should OM become an LSU/UF (in the last 5 years) type program over the next few years and win an NC in one or more of the big 3, I will, with out a shred of doubt, become the most intolerable, annoying, insufferable, gargantuanly mountainous prick on the planet. We have been waiting 46 years and all of my adult life for this. I have years of pent up misery to unload.

I WILL be banned from this board within 24 hrs of said championship.

The Ron Zook years were a short departure from normal. UF's winning percentage for the past 20 years leads the country, as does the SEC win-loss percentage since 1990.

I can't stand the Gators; but to say that hey ignore the other 19 sports is just dumb!

I started to come to TD to avoid some of the comoplete homers in UTs fanbase only to discover that Ole Miss has the biggest homers in the SEC. I did not realize until now that a single 9-4 season turned a program into the next major power in the league. At best, Ole Miss is the fourth best program in the West. Unless of course, you listen to their fans.

Without a doubt, it would be Ole Miss.

bama should be included in the list because they are not a winning team yet...while already being totally obnoxious. Gotta beat those Mountain West teams. Like someone else said...two good seasons in the past 9 years.

I think if Vandy ever became really good they might turn into a Notre Dame type or like Duke in basketball. Annoyingly snobby, preppy, and superior thinking.

We (and I'm only speaking for the rational OM fans here) do not consider ourselves the best in the West in a historical sense. Nor do we trumpet that from the roof tops. HOWEVER, we do defend the fact that at the end of last year (not in overall record), we WERE the 2nd, or 3rd best program in the SEC.

Given last years late season charge, a decent recruiting season, a strong coaching staff (suck it Arky) and a majority of contributors returning, we will not be ignored in SEC and BCS bowl discussions. If you ask me where we rank in the SEC all time, I'm not going to bullshite, at the bottom. If you ask me where we rank in the SEC preseason for 2009, I'm going to say in the top 3 or 4, and it's completely and totally justified. I do not think one season begets a programs historical prestige, however, we're going in the right direction. Will we keep it up? Will HDN bring us to the SECCG? Will we get a BCS bowl? Will we be able to sustain 10-12 win seasons? Who knows, but it feels damn good to discuss it so we ARE discussing it. A fan base that gains confidence as it's team begins playing well is a cyclical certainty. While we're playing well, we grow more confident, while we sucked, we lost confidence. You're asking us to remain meager and sheepish during a possible upswing in OM football?!?!? What ever dude, pass the dutchie pan de leff han syde.

Now, once we win a BCSCG... all bets are off and as I have previously stated, I'm going to be the WORST of the bunch.
