You are absolutely. They were killing the buck nuts, and Kiffin pulled the dumbest move of his time at Bama.

Right. That's why OSU was dominating the stat line throughout the game. If OSU didn't shoot themselves in the foot early in the game and came away with TDs instead of field goals (dropped TD, a bad catch on a snap), then OSU would have won that game by 20 points.
They outscored Bama 36-14 from the middle of the 2nd quarter on. It was 21-6 at one point

It's a chess match. If Meyer wins then he out coached Saban.

If things stay the same, will they even play each other. Bama has to beat Washington and OSU Clemson.

I think OSU is fighting a bit of an uphill battle this year, not that they can't win of course.
OSU's defense this year is extremely fast sideline to sideline, which actually seems to fit well against Bama's 2016 offense, which is more predicated on the zone read outside QB runs than in the past, and less on the 'run derrick henry 40 times up the gut'
OSU's offense has been so hit or miss this year. Their RT has been abused at times, and Meyer and the offensive braintrust have refused to figure out ways to alleviate the problems. Barrett has been hesitating too long, which has exasperated the RT problems.
If they played today, I think Bama wins something in the 21-13 mold, which is right at the Vegas line. However, Meyer uses the bowl prep time better than anyone, and OSU's defense is more opportunistic than anyone Bama has faced, so they can turn one bad throw into 6 points (much like Bama can do on the other side)

Unfortunately Meyers. It's hard to keep a team dialed in when everyone sings your praises.

Possibly, but the flow of the game is dictated by the actions in it.
If events played out differently as you hypothesized, other events would also have unfolded in reaction to them, so who knows what may or may not have happened.
That said, tOSU was the more prepared team that night. It was a function of limited film on Cardale Jones and adjustments UM made for his ability. But, as CNS/staff/players fully acknowledged after the fact, it was also a lesson learned for a 2 game playoff prep. Too little focus was placed on the game in front of them as efforts were diluted in prep for all 3 potential match ups.
That lesson learned was largely reflected in the MSU dominance in last year's CFP. CNS' "process," specifically on D, requires a lot of prep for an opponent... especially a dynamic one. That is why I am very much in favor of UA getting the tougher match up with an O that challenges their schematic weaknesses on D in the first round. Dedicate more energy to that game and allow players to simply make plays in the next game in a match up that favors their strengths.

If not for Kiffin's decision to quit running the ball up 21-6 in the first half we would've won the 2014 game.
Another myth. There wasn't a thing your offense could have done to stop Zeke Elliott. More excuses from Bammers. Everybody knew that OSU run defense had soft spots. Don't blame anyone but Saban for the defense, who got gashed for over 500 total yards. That is on Saban and the loss is on your defense.

I wouldn't be surprised if vtech didn't beat Clemson. Clemson hasn't impressed at all this year.

Saban, if OSU gets past Clemson.

Ya know I would have agreed a few weeks ago. They have brought the wood against admittedly subpar competition the last couple weeks

Should be a good game. Meyer is a great game day coach if he is an underdog.

Lol. Are those the whispers from uf?

I wouldn't say Saban is sane. But he is very stable.

Well what the hell was DePriest doing out there on the field then? Saban only gets the cream of the crop, remember? It can't be all about blaming the player. The coaching staff and S&C team should have been more prepared.
