As the 2nd best team in the Sec... its comes with alot of great fringe benefits:
Pseudo Elite status
In the conversation for playoffs each year/ at very least NY6 bowl. Program is more visible
Game of Century Games plenty of coverage and hype plus a least one analyst will pick your teams to be different from others.
Your pick of Louisiana recruits after Nick is done.
Sec offices and Da Rec will keep you undefeated until we meet and will give the customary bye week before we play.
Obviously Louisiana State University decided scale back on the football operations for the near future. So a new sparring partner is needed for Saban until he retires to the lake house in a few years.

also we are pretty much dead even since 2000. how quickly they forget from 2000-2007 alabama was 1-7 vs lsu. everything is cyclical....your shite will be pushed in soon enough

Other than UA, UF and UGA are the most likely programs to be consistent title contenders.
edit: I don't know about Smart. Maybe he will hire some new assistants and do well. Frankly, UGA should never settle for an unproven head coach. It worked out ok with Richt, but more often than not, it doesn't.
p.s. edit: I'm surprised nobody commented about the "Smoke". It's a huge softball.

In all fairness, CF is Bama's bitch recently and Saban's run will surpass the Bear. It was not that long ago that the Tigers had a five game run on you. I think that you guys are under-estimating the Coach O Tigers. This transitional year hurts with recruiting losing the two LBs from BR, but the best thing for all LSU fans is that we don't live in Alabama, and we have a much higher % of teeth than do you.
