Tanner English cause you know, he's really fast.
We've got so many guys who have moved around, so many new guys filling in for big time role players who are gone ... I really do hope English is going to have a breakout year at the plate, in center field and running the bases.
But Pankake or Schrock .... actually I'm almost willing to bet that it will be either Schrock or Saiko that will be the surprise player(s) in the SEC this year. Then again it could easily be Grayson Greiner, who I think could be the best catcher in the country this year.
I dunno, as I typed earlier, we've got a ton to choose from and they are almost all unknowns compared to past seasons. We have no real superstar returning.

I'm gonna say sophomore Sikes Orvis. Big lefty bat with power who will start the year fighting for pt at dh and 1B.
On the hill I'm gonna go with the big guy Hawtin Buchanan. At times last year, when he was able to consistently throw his breaking ball for strikes, he was unhittable and I've heard he made big strides in summer and fall ball . Dude can bring the chedd.

I heard Serrano on the radio say that we may have 5 true freshman starting in the field.
I am not a college baseball guy at all, but I may go out to a game or two this year to see Vincent Jackson, really high upside guy I've heard.

I'm going with Jacoby Jones. He has had some hot streaks here or there, but I think this year he stays consistent and lights it up.

ndeed. but a serious answer for lsu is bregman. that's my vote at least.
Keeping with your criticism, could a player who is entering his first year with the team really be a "breakout" player? I'm going to go with Sciambra.

I can't even name a player on our team.

I would have to agree with Bregman he will be an instant stud.

I was coming to post this as well. Jacoby finally becomes a consistent hitter this year.

Max Schrock, in my opinion he might win freshman of the year for the SEC. Holbrook said he's got one of the best swings he's ever seen and might be the best hitter on the team this year.
Pitcher, Jordan Montgomery: I know he's a sort of well known name but he'll be huge for us this year as a starter

Do you know anything about any other SEC freshmen?

Eric Fisher
Here's a quick bio: he is good enough to push Ficociello to 2nd base

I'm going out on a limb here. I think by SEC play that a local freshman could be starting in the OF. His name is Dorian Hairston and he is a machine. From what I understand he led the team in BA in the fall. Even if he doesn't break out this year, remember his name.
I was about to mention this kid as well. He's pretty incredible off the field as well. Was a Sankofa Award winner in 2012. LINK

I'm just messing around, shrock's supposed to be the real deal. He's going to be our starting 2nd baseman this year.

Sikes Orvis for sure... I also expect to see Will Jamison hit over .300 and steal a bunch of bases

I was just wondering because Aaron Fitt has Alex Bregman as his preseason national freshman of the year. Granted starting at shortstop will be more challenging than 2nd base.

That's fine just so you know and understand that Aaron Fitt sucks donkey balls.
