Not quite the same defense IMO.
Never said there was no drop-off. Bama may never have a defense as good as the '11 defense. However the '12 defense will be top 10 in nation and top 2 in SEC, that is good enough to compete with top teams. Losing a very experienced and talented OL after next year will be much more problematic for the '13 team.

USC. It doesn't matter about the restrictions either. You would be surprised what USC can pull in. There are some 3 & 4 star guys that would walk on if invited just to play in Hollywood.

If we play USC next year we win it by the end of the first quarter. They don't have depth or play defense

IDK man, I think they will be really good next year. We'll see.

Good in the PAC 10. Shitting them down is like shutting down another ark. It's a cake walk when you don't play a single team with a defense worth a damn. I've been unimpressed all year with usc. Those Wrs would not be wide open vs our defense, and watching them let Oregon climb back in it proves my point about their lack of depth.

Absolutely, but that's lack of depth this year. A lot of people don't like them. I think their defense is more solid than people think, just worn down by high-octane offenses. Teams in the Pac-12 give them fits, even at their height, but they perform very well against other conferences.
I'll just say I agree to disagree.

The scholarship losses kick in this year, you're expecting their depth to improve?

As I said above, USC is different. Kids love this school. The "Hollywood" aspect. Even with restrictions, they will be able to recruit well and have walk-ons more valuable than in most cases across the nation.
I highly doubt they fall off any.

Some of you have lost your damn minds if you don't think the scholarship restrictions will cripple USC in coming years. Of they don't make a run next season then it will be a few years before they do. I don't care how good USC recruits itself, so does, UA to a point and look what fewer scholarship restrictions did to us.

Every year Fl St is supposed to be in contention for the MNC, and every year they fail
Texas ain't winning anything soon

USC will be very good next year but they will have depth issues if they suffer from the injury bug. They ended up #5 in the AP this year for sure but they also lost 2 games. They will not play for a title with 2 losses coming out of the Pac 12. I still think Oregon is the big dog out west.
My best guess for the next non SEC school would be Texas or FSU. Texas always has talent and FSU is loading up to contend. I just think both need a new HC before it happens.

Possibly Michigan.
They have turned the program around from being mediocre to really good in a short amount of time.
Their recruiting better than anyone in the Big 10.

Where are all the posters saying Oklahoma St? Surely a powerhouse like that will bring home the hardware in the near future.

USC will beat Oregon next year in LA.
USC will go undefeated, and play LSU or Bama in the National title game next year.
9 returning starters on the offense, 8 on defense and both specialists.
Regarding depth, this isn't some mediocre program. They'll have some highly touted California kid behind them, just like they did in the carroll years.

The popular pick would be USC, but I am saying some Big Ten team who makes it through an easy schedule unscathed, and then gets lucky in the BCSNCCG.

Michigan. Good coach, great recruiting, best team currently in their conference, and they have been on the big stage before.
