Yet he was still doing exactly what Ed is doing right now and you aren't wanting Ed fired.
Where you're missing the point is, O didn't have anything better to work with than Miles. Slowly he is re establishing the talent along the lines of scrimmage. When was the last time LSU had a first round pick on the o line ? Brockers was 13 for the d line. Now compare that to Moo st this year with their d line.

If you think LSU has ever had a talent problem in the last 20 years I would like to sell you some beach front property in Nebraska.
Really ? 20 years ? You missed the point about the talent level slipping precipitously under Miles beginning in 13. Jennings and Harris were two of the worst back to back qb's a team could have. Fans like you look at rb's like Guice and Fournette with a few highly rated db's and think LSU has been loaded. This is O's third season. How about we see what happens this season with the roster he has built instead of firing a coach every year or two ? If not maybe you should build a house on that Nebraska beach and watch the waves roll in.

So it's ok to win 8 or 9 games a year as long as you change offenses? I mean I'm a dumbass, so I need to know all of the rules. As long as I keep changing shite I can keep a job forever even though my results are no better than the previous guy who got fired? At what point is Ed going to get held to the same standard as the guy who actually won a national title for your school?

When is Moo St ever going to win the SEC west ? You should hire a new head coach every season if the current one doesn't win at least the SEC west every year.

We don't have unrealistic expectations to the point of firing coaches that get results like Les Miles got for you, so your point is really fricking stupid.

Ha! So a first round pick is the only thing that constitutes having really good players? Do you have any idea how fricking stupid that is? And MSU has that type of Defense once every century It's not expected and may never happen again. Those first round picks also happened with a couple of 3 star players (and one 5 star) that worked out. You spoiled assholes get top 5 and top 10 recruiting classes every year and have the audacity to come on here and bitch about talent issues. That's rich. You also have a ton of players drafted every year. bUt tHiS oNe PoSiTiOn DoEs NoT gEt FiRsT rOuNdErS aNy MoRe.

Although if Odom or Luke underperforms, I can see them getting canned too.

It depends how bad the under-performance is... anything somewhat bearable and he will get at-least AT-LEAST one more year. He is starting to have some recruiting success in state and in St. Louis (still got a long way to go)... Places we need to do well in. Plus the general feeling is we are trending up with a positive program atmosphere, stadium upgrades, and player growth. Finally, Odom is a loyal MU guy.

Summary: We are pretty damn invested... I would be shocked unless something goes catastrophically wrong.

Les was so good he landed the Kansas job three years later. Think of all the teams who missed out on what they could have had. WOW !

You have yet to make a semi coherent point about anything. I will take that as a compliment.

You’re calling other people dumb? How many programs look to hire coaches that are 65 years old?

Miles wasn’t passed over because of his coaching ability. He was passed over because he’s old.

You hired a coach that got fired from Ole Miss for winning about 3 games a year and you are talking about where 65 year old Les ended up coaching? Jesus.

Incoherent is a Moo St fan trying to reason that Les shouldn't have been fired. Then again, you're a Moo St fan. Why should I expect anything different ?

Coach O gets fired first, but plot twist it’s a Bobby Petrino-esque situation and he crashes an airboat into a marina.

He's done a pretty decent job at LSU. If he wins 9 games again this year he will be averaging a win total of a full game below the guy you fired to replace him with. Congrats.

I know people on this board are really fricking stupid, but the idea that O is on the hot seat is weaponized autism.

It's pure, 100%, all natural, all whole grain, free trade retardation. Anyone that thinks where LSU is right now compares in any way to where LSU was in the last year of Miles is so retarded that they can count to potatoe.

LSU is fine.

O has done well enough for now.

Well, thank goodness Eaux has been much more successful in that area.

Malzahn and Luke are obviously the choices here..and I think both are gone at years end.
