Richard Todd would have to be Bama's last good pro QB, all things considered.

Alan Risher started 16 games one season for the Arizona Wranglers in the USFL, and started 3 games for the Green Bay Packers during the strike.

Many times when professional (or college) players would do this, they would many times play for a "base team". Starr allegedly played for Eglin, and at times, Eglin had a team that could perhaps beat a some professional teams, and most college teams.
