YA Tittle for LSU...it's been a while.
You forgot about Bert Jones.
I think most would say it's a stretch to call David Woodley a "good Pro QB", but he did start for the Miami Dolphins in relief, and took the team to a Superbowl.
Not a stretch by any means to say DW was a good pro QB. If not for a young guy by the name of Moreno He would probably have started for a decade. Bad QB's don't get their teams into a SuperBowl. The Tittle comment earlier was ridiculous. Bert Jones was the NFL offensive MVP whose career was cut short by injuries. Poor Hodson just never played on a good team as the starter. Matt Flynn has not become the starter and probably won't until he switches teams but he has the makings of a very good pro if given the opportunity. JR was a colossal bust but he cried all the way to the bank over it.

After watching Brodie solidy himself as the worst backup QB in the NFL on Sunday...
Tavaris Jackson was at Arkansas before transferring; if he counts as one of our players, then I think his performance yesterday gives Brodie a strong challenge for worst backup

Stafford is the latest, Fran Tarkenton is the greatest. UGA's had a lot of NFL QB's, most were meh though.

Yes, but at least the other teams have histories of good collegiate QBs. We couldn't even do that in the Nutt era.
I'd say Clint Stoerner and Matt Jones both count as "good collegiate QBs", don't you?

JPW I would guess. At least he doesnt have to get in and show how sucky he really is. Everybody looks stout holding a clipboard and a headset.

I think Nutt had T. Jackson at DB if I remember correctly. Maybe Nutt was trying to do him a favor?

I got to wondering about each school's most recent "Top Flight" NFL QB.

it's a huge stretch. DW had and still owns the worst Super Bowl by a starting QB ever.

obviously your a kid and never saw David play

I think the correct answer for Auburn is never, isn't it?

Did Dan Reaves play QB in the pros? He is a Carolina grad and played for us in the late 1960s.

State has a pathetic pro QB history. Our last All-SEC QB was Don Smith in 1986, who played WR/RB in the NFL.

Jeff Rutledge?
Did he ever do anything more than hold FGs for the Redskins?
Well.... Rutledge does have a Super Bowl Ring. (backup QB - the best job in the NFL, ha...)
After having QB's win MVP in the first three Super Bowls... Stabler and Todd were BAMA's only starting Pro QBs.

Am I missing something but didn't Broadway Joe play for Bama? If so, he and Stabler are at the top of that list.

UAalumnus meant AFTER Namath...

Sadly enough Tarkenton would be it for us. Stafford has showed potential to be awesome but hasn't stayed healthy. Quincy was serviceable and led Dallas to the playoffs, but let's be honest he wasn't all that. Fran was great.

Sorry... I implied that in my response...
Super Bowl I MVP - Bart Starr (BAMA '55)
Super Bowl II MVP - Bart Starr
Super Bowl III MVP - Joe Namath (BAMA '65)

Stoerner was good in Arena league, which is technically "pro" ball.
