I’m biased. Bo and I are 2 years apart in age but only one in HS graduation dates. I ran track and CC in HS and college. I was decent and made the state meet but never great. I saw him run in the indoor track state championships I think in 81 or 82 when it was in the old arena in Montgomery with the wooden track. Saw him set the state record in the 60-yd hurdles and just miss winning the 60 dash. Then he strolled over a few minutes later and won the long jump. Also saw him jump 6-8 or something in the HJ at 210 lbs. Never seen such a physical specimen and natural athlete in my life before or since.

They were both phenomenal on the field of course. You could argue for both of them. Fast forward and it’s obvious who has kept their shape and fitness up. I don’t know many men who’d get in the cage with Herschel. Bo is content to bow hunt and be a family man out of the spotlight. Love ‘em both. Good guys.

I saw both play in person. Herschel was the greatest and Bo was second.

Then after there is a drop off. McFadden is third and then you can throw in a heap of RB’s from 4-50 and not see much difference.

LOL. I'm a Cowboys fan and I love Emmitt. He isn't in the same convo with guys like Barry, Bo and Herschel.

Sure he is! But D. Henry on the other hand, most definitely nit!

You talk about how much Walker was at a disadvantage, but you don't seem to realize the teams were built around the RBs many times back in those days.

Georgia was 6-5 prior to the arrival of Herschel. Herschel wins a natty his frosh season. End of debate.

Shaun Alexander was better than Henry.

Herschel Walker, Georgia is running a different offense than Auburn had with Bo Jackson.

Derrick Henry really? texag how long you been watching football, 1980 football is night and day different than football today.

Both Walker and Jackson would be superstars in todays football; and Walker's offense was closer to 1960-70s running attacks.

Georgia played some of the ugliest football with Herschel that I've ever seen until Les Miles entered the picture.

It has to be Herschel and sure maybe some could say close. But in all reality its not. I will say Bo is the better athlete and had more God given talent. But Herschel Walker was a machine and robot with zero human feelings. He literally had a different personality that wanted to destroy people when he carried the ball.

Herschel was way faster. Before you ppl say they were close on speed please go look at track times and understand that 2 tenths of a second in the hundred means almost 15 yards behind thats a lot.

I don't want to take anything away from Bo I like him as a person and personality more. But Herschel was just no human.

Herschel was the better college player but Bo was the better player. That guy was ridiculous in the pros and he only played half seasons

The year after Walker left, they almost won another national championship.

And Georgia won 9 games prior to that season you mention. Only 5 the year before that, but then 9 and 10 prior to the 5. That's Georgia football.

Alexander was a beast and the only bright spot in the dark ages, but Henry is just a freak of nature.

DMac playing against 8-9 man fronts due to no passing and an average line. Ran inside outside blocked caught passes threw passes and returned kicks. Would also blast you if returning a turnover. THE BEST.
