Who was the greatest, Bo or Herschel.

I can’t decide. They were both so great. Bo had great speed, quickness and he would run over you. Herschel was so fast and powerful. He ran over defenders like every game. I can’t decide who was better. They are like tied for greatness in my mind. Not thinking of NFL, just college, which is all I care about

Walker all day long.

Wash, rinse, repeat! This is the umpteenth time this has been posted on this board! I mean, really?
Take your pick! But neither held a candle to D. Henry! CEH, too, for that matter!

Wait are there actually Bama fans that think Henry is the GOAT?
It’s very plausible he wasn’t even the best RB in the SEC except for one year.

Barry Sanders. The rest.
From 1972 to 1985 there was only one qb who won the Heisman and that was Flutie. Most on this forum didn't get to see guys like Tony Dorsett who rushed for 2150 yards his senior season. Earl Campbell was a monster who abused defenders. Billy Sims was amazing, so smooth. Those three were a cut above guys like Charles White, Marcus Allen and George Rodgers.
Then came Herschel. What made him different was he was faster than the other guys mentioned. Even faster than Dorsett. Herschel began his career as ESPN was a burgeoning network. Herschel was the first great back to get the amount of pub he did. Deservedly so but Dorsett, Campbell and Sims were as good as Herschel with different running styles. Walker wins the Heisman as he should have then comes Rozier, Flutie and Bo. Rozier had great stats but he isn't in the same tier as Bo and Herschel.
1988 along comes Barry Sanders. He rushes for 2,850 yards in one season. Let that resonate. Averaging 7.6 yards per carry.

Some, sure. He did break the rushing record while facing against 8 or so top 50 rush defenses and, if memory serves, 4 or 5 top 25 ones.
That said, IMHO Bo was slightly better than Herschel but it is akin to asking who was better, Arnold Palmer or Tiger Woods. Both are so damned good as to make any argument circular.

This just implies you don't know what the word "plausible" means.

It’s a tough question and it’s almost not fair to put one over the other because they’re both so elite. If you absolutely force me to pick one I would take Bo Jackson but Herschel Walker is right there behind Bo by a centimeter.

Herschel had the more legendary career, IMO. He was very hyped out of high school and was a stud on Day #1 who lead UGA to a national title as a freshman and later won the Heisman as a junior.
In recruiting, Bo Jackson was overshadowed by Marcus Dupree - who might have been better than both Bo and Herschel if he had had better people around him and his head on straight. Bo obviously won a Heisman and did a lot of great things, but I don’t think his career was as memorable as Herschel’s.

He broke Walkers SEC rushing record in less carries and against better defenses. A record that had been in place for over 30 years.
And that year was his lowest average per carry year of his career.
Meanwhile he also won the Heisman while leading his team to a national championship.
If he did the same thing on Georgia's team, you would be claiming it.

If George Rogers was in the sec back then he would be in the convo. George was a beast,.

Just a freak specimen who had it all physically. Really sad what happened to him. The biggest "what if" in sports history.

Are you talking about the single season rushing record ?
Walker has more career yards. Henry had the benefit of playing on the most talented team. Herschel was the team. Herschel was better than Henry.
