The dude had a dislocated shoulder in the first Quarter of the title game, and still won the game for UGA. What a beast! And, a really nice dude.

South Carolina's George Rodgers should be on the list, somewhere. The man was a beast and the game with him and Herschel was one for the books.

Bo is the best that I have seen.

Bo would lay down.

He pulled himself from the UT and Ole Miss games in 1985 after their defenses rocked that arse for him.

Herschel was the best ever at the college level.

Chubb was fun to watch, too. I remember the long string of 100 yard games... before that hell field of Tennessee.

Herschel probably should've won the Heisman all 3 years he played.

Everyone is going to have their preferences and favorites but Herschel Walker is definitely known as the greatest if you took a poll. It doesn’t mean all that much but it’s fun to talk about. Tom Brady is the “GOAT” quarterback but from my seat I’ve always thought Rodgers was actually better at the position. And I actually like Brady more. There’s not a right or wrong answer.

Did that Georgia team play a team with a winning record? I forget.

If he played on better teams then his numbers would be better. But he was hamstrung in a one dimensional offense.

Eh, I think Arkansas' three-headed monster at RB and style of play allowed DMac to shine more than he would have in a more pass centric offense. Arkansas was also running formations and schemes that no one else was at the time, and it was very hard to defend. Him also being able to throw out of the wildcat added another wrinkle that teams had to respect

If Matt Jones had come around a little later that would have been a hell of a rushing offense. Sucks that McFadden came in the period between Jones and Mallett and had to face 8 in the box every play with horrible QBs.

Herschel.

It’s not even close, his performance in the National title game was legendary. Everyone in the stadium knew he was getting the ball and even with a separated shoulder he still gained more yards than the total offensive yardage.

Herschel Walker without a doubt. The possibilities are so many but HW is the GOAT. Should have won Heisman as a freshman but George Rogers won it. I think lol. Led team to championship in freshman year over Notre Dame. Today's society he wins Heisman.

Sonny Collins

He'd race you to the 40, do a line of coke off it and beat you back to your ol ladies house before you even got out the gates.
I remember him back in 77 when Kentucky came into Athens and beat the Dogs about 38-0 or something like that. Wasn't Sonny Collins about 26 years old? I think y'all got him out of the pen and he went back in after he used up eligibility at UK. Your QB went and played TE for the Raiders for about 12 years or something like that. Bama won the natty that year, but I swear I think that Kentucky team would have cleaned their clocks if they had played. There is no film anywhere of that team because they were on max probation. Damn, they were men amoung boys.

They would win 4-6 games. Jones couldn't throw the ball when he needed to and the offense would still be predictable.

Now if Jones moved to WR and they had a real QB then you really had an explosive offense. But that would be too logical.
