Before Mason came to Vanderbilt he was making upwards of $450,000 a year.. Now he is making almost 2 mil a year.. He will be fired either this November or the next.. He will then collect a 2 or 3 million buyout.

1) They won it all in baseball. Really great achievement.
2) However, SEC football just cannot have 14 good teams beating up on each other now that the playoff is here. It's fine with me if at least one program has hit the skids.
3) And, yes, Vandy will struggle to win more than two games this year. Derek Mason is in waaaay over his head.

I'm enjoying it only because, living in middle TN, they talked shite like they were 90s Nebraska. Claiming they owned Nashville and the state, which everyone knew was bullshite.
I just don't know why vandy fans hate the Vols so much. Even in their couple good years, it wasn't about their most success in 100 years. It was about UT and our failures.

I hate it for Mason. I've heard through people at Stanford that he is a standup, class act guy. Makes me think that Franklin was in the right place at the right time (Tennessee, Florida, Georgia struggling last season). Looks like Franklin got out in the nick of time.

Definitely feel bad for them. Mason seems to be a nice guy and sure he may be paid very well but still has some pride and feel bad for the team.

Mason seems like a smart man. Delusional, but smart. He knew what he was getting into, much like Bert, he will get paid, pump up and rah rah the fan base, let me get my system in place BS to the media,get another year, and get paid again
