Kirby is a far better recruiter than richt and that's not debatable.
I would say better. Far better seems like a stretch.

If you look at the OL recruiting, you will change your tune.

We have three 5 stars and three very high 4 stars in the past 2 classes.
In the past 10 years, Richt only pulled in 1 guy that would fall within that classification.

Kirby has been crushing every position on the field except DT (we typically only field one of those at a time with our DEs and linebackers).

4th playoff spot would have been a dogfight between tech, oklahoma, and UGA

And USC. Each had a better record and a conference title besides uga.

Theus and Max jean gillis?

That’s who I was referencing but they might’ve been lower rated. Still great gets at the time.

Turns out it was just one 5 star and 2 top 100 guys. Max was a high 4 star.

Kirby has 7 guys on the OL in his classes ranked higher than Max Jean Gilles.

I think in 15 years, Richt accumulated 4 OL in that category or better (Cordy Glenn and the Bennett kid who transferred to UVA).

And we also had a TON Of injuries on the OL during the Richt years to guys we thought would be good players. I feel like every year we would lose and OL to injury and that player would quit football. So having very little depth and losing players to injury was a constant hamper

But why are players that could start at Auburn or Clemson going to UGA to sit for a couple years?

That’s the million dollar question...it doesn’t take a genius to see some shady shite is going on, especially with the QB position. Athens is a nice town, but there are plenty of other nice towns in the country that aren’t recruiting as well as UGA.

True, Brent Benedict was the third. Glenn was outside 100.

There aren't plenty who offer the complete package uga does.

The two main competitors for Fields changed coaches after horrible seasons..his sister is already on scholly in Athens..

What complete package is that? Riding the pine for 2-3 years behind other 5 star recruits?

Do you think the same thing about the other handful of programs that have recruited top 2 classes over the last decade? Must there always be something nefarious going on?

like bama freshmen do every class with few excpetions?

And as for QB:

2016- the only QB we had with any actual experience was a total scrub who was never going to be the starter with any legit competition. Easy choice for a 5* to come in

2017- The Fromms loved kirby, and he is the major reason he committed to bama in the first place. Kirby goes to UGA, fromm goes to UGA. Add in the fact we only had 1 QB on the roster to compete with, so it's not like he was looking up a mountain of a depth chart.

2018- Eason may or may not transfer, we don't know, but if he does we're in the same situation of only having 1 QB on the roster. However, Fields has a completely different skillset than anyone else we have. He can redshirt (not likely) and add in another year of separation, but if not he will undoubtedly see PT early and often in 2018.

You act like it's beyond fathomable reason why we could get QBs (also ignoring our excellent track record of QBs this century). This year proved that you're only 1 play away from starting, and it's probably more likely than not that we will go into next season with just 2 scholarship QBs. It's not like we are 6 deep at the position.

What about Sturdivent? He was as good an O-line prospect
as a true Freshman that ever played in Athens.
