I'll probably remember Manziel more. Unless McCarron excels in the NFL.

He throws passes, thats what a QB does. Manziel catches fumbled balls midair and hits a receiver for a TD. That's the kind of shite that's remembered.

It's remembered because of the game and who it was against.

JFF will make a huge mistake by heading to the NFL too early, get ZERO playing time, and will become a distant, faded memory surpassed by the next flavor of the month. We will have pretty much forgotten about JFF within 2-3 years.
It's a sad reality, but the guy just does NOT know how to make good decisions off the field.

Yea because no one will remember the all-time winningest QB in college football history or anything

If A&M is "normal" then we have the 2nd most Conference Titles of any school in the SEC. I guess I can live with that. Most SEC folks seem to think "normal" is what happened in the Fran/Sherman era which is our worst period of football since we allowed women to attend.
That said, a lot will depend on what they do in the NFL honestly. Look at a guy like Eric Crouch. He an amazing college QB that won a Heisman but no one remembers now. Look at Gino Toretta. They won Heismans but everyone credits it to the teams they played on. In the end that NFL career makes a huge difference in how they are viewed.
Manziel is certainly the sexier choice. His highlight reel could go on for 30 minutes for his career while AJ's would be about 3 (if you don't count celebrations holding a trophy). In terms of career accomplishments it isn't a discussion.
Manziel's legacy is tarnished a bit if he does leave (which I fully expect) because of how he ended. It looks like a lot of that was being hurt (especially with his thumb) but in the end that's the breaks. Kind of sucks for AJ that he had one of his most heroic performances against Auburn and it will only be a footnote for obvious reasons.
Who knows?

Right now JFF looks like a once in a generation player, but we thought the same thing with Tebow and Cam. Truly great players come along a lot more than we think.
AJ's accomplishments will always be hard to top.

I'll remember AJ ...
*leading Bama back to beat LSU
*leading Bama back to beat AU
*crushing ND in a Natty
*beating LSU in a Natty
*having almost as many Natty rings as loses
Last time I checked - a QB is the LEADER of the TEAM...I would want AJ a many times over any other QB out there...he defines a leader on the field!! imo
That's what will be most remembered about him when he is gone!

Pretty dumb question imo.
Who has a more memorable legacy between Tom Brady and Ken Anderson?

Of course you will, you're an alabama fan. UGA fans remember David Greene (who also set the NCAA wins record) but the rest of the nation has forgotten him I'm sure.
30 years from now, people will remember bama winning these titles but they won't remember who the QB was. They will remember Manziel.

What was the name of the last Alabama QB that won a NC?
You know, the guy that played against Texas and Colt McCoy in the national championship?

I'm being a little bit of a smartass, but ask the average football fan who the QBs of Texas and Alabama were at the time.

I think he meant AJ is another in a long line of Bama QB's of great teams.

I think most would remember McCoy, but probably 1 out of 20 non-SEC fans would remember McElroy's name.

That's kinda what I meant, but also like he said alabama has had some all-timers at QB. Honestly who are some of the best QBs in aTm history? Admittedly I don't know as much about their history because they are new to the league but I have to imagine JM being the best.
When bear was winning all those titles in the 60s and 70s or whever it was..30 years later in the 90s do you think the normal college football fan could tell you who the QBs were? Doubtful.
