It has to be Jumbo. He could lose the next 12 games in a row and Aggy would be stuck with him for 50 more. And even then they'd have to pay him like $40 million to go away.

O didn't get that big raise until after the natty so the raise was earned
And it was likely due to a clause in his contract similar to what Les Miles had that escalates for winning a natty
What's the excuse for Jimbo or Mullen?

Ed Orgeron
Dan Mullen
Jimbo Fisher
Ed Orgeron brings nothing to the table. He can't coach off. or def. Other than a personality, what is he?

O wasn’t paid until after he won a Natty.
Jimbo hasn’t done shite to justify his salary. They did it all based on 2 good years at FSU which is a blue blood program and he had Jameis.
But they ignored the fact he destroyed that program and it still hasn’t recovered

Jimbo didn't get paid his worth, he got paid by a dumbass AD trying to keep a bidding war from starting for Jimbo.

I know everyone gives Aggy shite for the Jimbo contract, but the Orgeron contract is just atrocious. I had no idea he made nearly 9 mil a year.
Holy shite.
Holy shite.

He doesn't.
OP's numbers aren't correct.

Okay
I was thinking to myself how in the world I missed that kind of raise.
So it's still Jimbo, but Ed is doing his best to close the gap whatever he's being paid. The AU/LSU game is one of my favorite games of the year and to see what has happened to what used to be a given in LSU having a solid run game has just gotten sad. I thought if O could do one thing well outside of recruiting would be to have a tough physical team. But that's not the case.

He got a 6 year, $42 mil extension after the title.
He was making like $4 mil per year before it.

O's recruiting along the offensive line has been atrocious.

Jim Harbaugh at $7.4M a year
Strong answer.
1. Jimbo
2. Kirby (see me in a few weeks when he pees down his leg & screws up Georgia’s best chance for a nat)
3. Dan (shoulda stayed a hero in Mississippi)
4. Ed (won a nat. Thank you. Hope you have saved some of your loot. You’re going to need it)

It all depends on which site you look at:
Nick Saban 8.4 mill
Dan Mullin 7.6 mill
Jimbo Fisher 7.5 mill
Ed Orgeron 6.7 mill

IMO it’s jimbo
He was already washed up at FSU before the hire. I always thought that was a huge mistake for A&M.

Orgeron makes around $7 million per year on average.
Yeah, a big part of that extension and the yearly rate that is frequently cited is a massive whole life insuarnce policy that was part of the extension. The actual coaching salary is $7 million/year

Jimbo & O by a long stretch.

Sexton has made a career out of resetting the coaching salary market, that's for sure

Orgeron's new contract began on Jan. 14 and expires Dec. 31, 2025.
It has an annual salary of $6 million and includes a $5 million split-dollar life insurance policy in the first two years of the deal. In total, the contract is worth $41 million before bonuses.
Next year that $8.9MM figure drops tremendously.
He was also only being paid $4 million/year in 2017 and 2018, one of the lowest paid head coaches in the conference. At least his bump was a reward for a national tite.
