According to Sporting News (they forgot Ole Miss) ...
Alabama - Joe Namath
Arkansas - Darren McFadden
Auburn - Bo Jackson
Florida - Tim Tebow
Georgia - Herschel Walker
Kentucky - Tim Couch
LSU - Billy Cannon
Mississippi State - Walt Harris
Ole Miss - N/A
(I would put Archie Manning as their ICON)
Missouri - Chase Daniel
South Caroline - George Rogers
Tennessee - Peyton Manning
Texas A&M - John David Crow (no Manziel?)
Vanderbilt - Jay Cutler
Alabama - Joe Namath

Arkansas - Darren McFadden

Auburn - Bo Jackson

Florida - Tim Tebow

Georgia - Herschel Walker

Meh...
I think of Atwater or Bambi before Dmac

For UGA, I'd put Zeke Bratkowski. The Human Turnover Machine himself. 68 career INTs (SEC record), 29 alone in 1951 (also an SEC record), and 8 INTs thrown in the 1951 game vs GT (yeah, we lost 48-6). Truly a prolific quarterback.

I think of Bear Bryant when I think of THE Alabama icon. Definitely Archie with Ole Miss. Rest are pretty good though.

I'd go with Emmitt Smith over Tebow. Emmitt actually did something after his time at UF.

Ditto.
I might more people think of Johnny and A&M. JDC was just so long ago.

Sometimes I forget Smith went to Florida. It's Tebow without a doubt.

The Blue Deuce is Kentucky's without a doubt.

I wish I could find a video of him getting killed in the Jerry world cotton bowl

Those Vandy uniforms from the mid-2000s were on point.
Without a doubt, it is Archie for Ole Miss, or maybe Chucky Mullins.

Mizzou - Roger Wehrli, Johnny Roland or Kellen Winslow. I'd say Winslow but would not argue with Wehrli or Roland.
Daniel was great, but I respectfully disagree. Paul Christman was as good as Chase in a different generation. Chase was on the best or second best Mizzou team.

what does his time after UF have to do with his icon status at UF?
I mean using that criteria UGA's biggest icon would be like Hines Ward or Dominique Wilkins or something. I think the point of the original question was when you think of a school, who is THE person you think of? Preeeeeety sure when people hear the name "Emmitt Smith", first thing they think of is the cowboys, not florida.

While Big George has the hardware, I'd say Marcus Lattimore is the new icon for SC's football program.
The Return of Marcus Lattimore
I never knew how close he was to losing his leg after Eric Gordon's cheap shot. (Yet another reason to hate Tennessee...)

I'd still say it's Jared Lorenzen.
