Patterson is a heisman candidate on a team with a pulse.
Yep - he's incredibly talented. Watching him live against us, he truly reminds you of Johnny Manziel. Probably not quite as good at avoiding the rush, but a better pure passer.
Shame he's stuck throwing slants and go routes and getting sacked.

I think Patterson is the most talented. He's also incredibly erratic.
He's what I imagine Manziel might have been like playing with a terrible O-line and 15 play calls.
Nailed it. I think Patterson is best but everyone will say Stidham or Hurts.
I take Shea if I'm building a program.

After this weekend I became unimpressed with Shea. He threw almost 30 more passes than Stidham and produced 1 more yd. He also missed on some very open recievers and was crap on 3rd down completions. Auburn definitely didn't have its best defensive performance either.

Shea Patterson. This isn't seriously debatable.

Well that makes him the best qb then, right? If you put all the SEC qbs on Alabamas roster, Patterson would have that team more unbeatable than any other SEC qb. I dont even wanna think about that

That team could probably beat a few NFL teams.

JUST KIDDING.

Kid doesn't impress me in the slightest. Only thing that he's good at it avoiding the sack, besides that he looks like a receiver playing qb or something. He played way over his head for that Bama game.
Mond is 18. He's started 5 games. How can you possibly know he played "way over his head" in the Bama game?
I don't know if he's going to keep improving or not, but it's very obvious that the kid is super talented. He's faster than average for a QB, more elusive than average for a QB, with a great QB build, and has a canon for an arm. Will his accuracy become consistent? Will he learn to see the field and go through progressions more effectively? Will he learn to make the proper pre-snap reads? I don't know, but there is every reason to think he's going to keep improving in these areas. He's fricking 18, and he just played a FAR better game against Bama that Shea Patterson did.

Jalen Hurts just cuz you asked.

He's really not though..
He had 237 yards passing. And 2 TDs on Alabama as a true freshman....
What is talented to you?

He really missed a few throws against Auburn that could have been big plays.
I do think constantly being under pressure both literally (from defenders) and figuratively (having to score every drive and having it completely on your shoulders) does wear on a kid, especially an inexperienced one.
I think it is exactly what is happening to Austin Allen at Arkansas.

I think this is right. He's limited by terrible coaching, and a team that seems not to care a lot of the time. I hate to think this as a Rebel fan, but if he can transfer without having to sit out a year, I would if I were him. I think his talent is being wasted right now. He'd have a way better career at another school at this time.

People hate on him but I'll take the guy who won SEC Offensive Player of the Year as a true freshman.

After that first good drive where they missed the FG I think he was mentally affected. Auburn scored on the next drive, Ole Miss goes 3 and out then Auburn scores on the first play of the next drive. That's a lot to overcome for a young QB.

Yep - especially the week after losing 66-3 and feeling the "here we go again" thing.
For his sake I hope he doesn't fall into bad habits and mentally lose it.

Yep, I wouldn't be upset at him if he did that. Longo's offense is a freaking joke. I think he's waiting to see who the next HC is going to be. Put him on Alabama's team, and they would be totally unbeatable and he'd be in the driver's seat for the Heisman.

Agree. He's not quite the runner Hurts is but he's pretty good, and his arm talent is incredible. Our offense would be CFB all-time good.
I hope, for his sake and Ole Miss', that they hire a stable coach with a good scheme and he is able to have a good career there.
