Very simple. You are not comparable. Texas is though.
I would just like to point out that not only was LSU the first SEC team to win a National Championship as a member of the conference, they also have the most National Championships of all the Founding members of the SEC.
They fall behind only two current members: Texas(by quite a few) and Arkansas (by two NC according to NCAA lists, but some lists have LSU tied or up one bc they include unclaimed NCs by LSU).

They can't just claim a National Championship in NCAA recognized sports like they do in football.

Oklahoma AD
Joe Castiglione would have been the easy choice but he just retired. Nattys in football, baseball, softball, gymnastics, and golf. New guy gets big shoes to fill.

Spin off thread. I can't think of any really. Maybe the AD at Texas or UGA
Certainly can’t complain about CDC. We now have Bevo Boulevard, and more beer flowing before football games. And have y’all heard about our recent Director’s Cup success ??

Where CDC has shined is not with the window dressing. The stadium environment is indeed at a level that is, at long last, an advantage to the team. CDC is to be commended for that.
Where CDC has shined is with the BMD money, egos and politics, that are inherent to Texas athletics. He has built a coalition of BMDs that are actually working towards a common goal and not against each other.

I agree with you here. It takes a lot of skill to deal with our big cigar wealthy alumni and narcissistic politicians, and keep everyone moving in the same direction.

Actually this is a thread about best ADs, and A&M is doing quite well with Trev Alberts- a Nebraska alum we hired away from Nebraska.

I think you have to look at overall financial success as well as success of the athletic teams.
This ^^^^ UCLA's AD was the 2024/2025 Athletic Director of the Year...had 4 more teams at UCLA this past season win National Titles and just got fired a few weeks ago...Finances were in dire straits...even with the B1G Media Payouts.
