quote:that's rubbish. the week we hired Bert ya'll hired Gus. Many say he waited until Arkansas passed before taking the Auburn job, but that is beside the point. At that time, 10-10-1 was teh auburn/arkansas record since '91. 10-10-1. DEAD TIE> Add to that Arkansas has no instate rival, borders Texas, has better facilities, and Fayetteville is the highest rated city to live in in the SEC.
Even with all that Auburn is simply on another level from Arkansas. Gus knows that at Auburn he can compete for championships with top shelf talent year after year. He can't do that at Arkansas. Ignore the truth all you want but Arkansas is a second tier SEC program. Always has been since 91, always will be. You know it, I know it, and Gus knows it.
(And for the record, I'm not really a Gus fan)
How exactly is Auburn superior exactly? Ya'll have better bagmen, true, I'll give you that. What else?

Your melt is going to be glorious when your nose is rubbed in the fact that you're still Arkansas. I can't wait!

How many SEC championships does Arkansas have? Anyone? Anyone?
Its sad really that the narrative from national media has been that Gus would go to Arkansas to get away from the high expectations and pressure of Auburn.
Let's face it. Arky fans would be perfectly content with a 7 win season and every once in a while pulling out an upset and mediocre bowl, while that shite put Gus on the hottest of seats at Auburn.

Houston Nutt attained more success than that and was fired. That shows that you don’t know what the frick you are talking about.

none of these idiots have been paying attention. They are just falsely equating us w/ Bert at this point. It's like they have forgotten that all of our recent hires have been solid to great hires. Our last 2 football hires were stealing the Atlanta Falcons coach mid season and the Wisconsin Badgers coach before the season and he coached while living a lie for them all year. I suspect a similar situation to happen again. One of these guys already accepted the job...

Let's be honest here. Mizzou has a better history in the SEC than Arky does.

Why would you say let's be honest, then lie?

Arkansas will hire Ole Miss' leftovers...
after Ole Miss hires from Tennessee's leftovers....
after Tennessee hires from Texas A&M's leftovers....
after Texas A&M hires from Florida's leftovers....
and Bert Bielema sticks his head in and says, "did somebody say something about leftovers????"

How many Division titles has Arky won?
How many Division titles does Mizzou have?

You upset that Houston Nutt is 10 times the coach O is?

Coach O made you do the bitch squeal two years in a row. Showed you your place. Now stay in it pig.

I don't think Arkansas plans on winning some bidding war with Auburn. He has a large buyout correct? The only situation I can really imagine Gus coming to Arkansas would be if he lost to Bama and then Auburn waived his buyout and both parties kind of mutually split up. Auburn fans have been talking about firing Gus for years, including almost all of this year. I figured they would jump at the chance to get rid of Gus and not have to pay him off.

Gus's buyout is $0 for him to leave on his own.

You are right at least we fired our mistake. You fired Les and hired a coach that couldnt win a sec game with the same team Nutt took to two straght cotton bowls. Think about that for a minute.

Oh damn I had heard wrong. I was wondering why everyone thought it was a legit possibility. I could definitely see Gus leaving if the school he leaves for doesn't have to pay AU a big buyout. The relationship is clearly toxic at this point.

We're LSU. Our d line coach made you his submissive whore. Think about that. Picture it.

The only buyout terms has to do with his assistants he doesn't take with him and are not retained by auburn. But they are all such wonderful assistants they should have no problem finding employment.
