I am sure most LSU fans wish he was somewhere other than Ole Miss.

Any LSU fan that disagrees with this statement is full of shite. They'd much rather us have a Matt Luke or Joe Moorhead level coach.

We can all pity LSU fans for dressing like trannies before it was a widespread thing.

First of all, what is he rated that makes you say that?

Second, he led Ole Miss to 2 10 win regular seasons for the first time in school history, 2 NY6 bowl appearances (with 1 win) and an 11 win season.

Lane Kiffin has been built up a LOT over the years, way before he even coached at Ole Miss. Everyone was freaking out, thinking he was going to make Ole Miss into this juggernaut. His first 2 seasons were abysmal. Brian Kelly, on the other hand, has been bashed repeatedly and went to the SECCG in his first season after inheriting a dumpster fire and 39 scholarship players. And the difference between LSU going 10-2 and Ole Miss going 9-3 was just about as close as it gets. Don’t get me wrong, they won fair and square, and that’s what matters, but let’s not act like it could’ve EASILY gone either way and Kiffin would easily still be sitting on 3 10 win seasons for his P5 career.

He’s not a terrible coach, or even a bad one. I’d call him slightly above average by SEC standards at schools that can succeed with the resources they have. Like I said, he’s been touted this offensive genius and coach that everybody fears for the last decade, based on very little evidence, if any at all.

thanks for the kind words. We did have a nice run during the time you mentioned and then we got lost in the wilderness only to find an acorn or two every now and again. I'm excited about this year and look forward to all the games. One game at a time.

Baseball is currently less popular than women's basketball. Attendance numbers are clear.

Women's basketball is popular right now because of petty drama and getting promoted like hell by ESPN. They got a shtick and I guarantee that more women's college basketball players are going try and grab the torch Angel Reese was carrying. Someone is going to up the ante because they know there is money and attention in drama.

Good for college baseball for not going that way (Vitello definitely got his act together a bit after the 2023 season).

I'd even go out on a limb and add Freeze level. Sure Freeze could recruit but he shat the bed every year at least twice.
