Bama has some greats rbs in the back but Yeldon needs to prove himself a bit more. Henry could be a beast. Hill dominated this year so I give the slight edge to LSU.

Yeldon? Another Bama fan said it best the other day. We went from thunder and lightning to fumble and fumble. Henry has to step up

Definitely Archibalds
Oh Running backs, I thought you meant ribs.

It's funny how an All American is the 3rd best running back on your own team. Being a fan of Alabama sucks.

I love how everybody is marginalizing a RB that had 1300 yards and 14 TDs with a rebuilt OL as a sophomore in the SEC this year. Who woulda thunk that Yeldon would be underrated?

it really is crazy how many good backs are in the SEC
This is how I see it breaking down next year. I won't go into a 1-10 list, but I see the "tiers" looking like this:
Tier one
Todd Gurley
TJ Yeldon
Jeremy Hill
Mike Davis
Cameron Artis-Payne
Derrick Henry
Alex Collins
Terrance Magee
Tier two
Kelvin Taylor
Kenyan Drake
Leonard Fournette
Corey Grant
Jonathan Williams
I'tavius Mathers
Trey Williams
Keith Marshall
Russell Hansbrough
Again, these are in no order. Everyone on the tier one list has workhorse ability and everyone on the tier two list has the ability to change a game and be a stable back in this league. Lots and lots of talent, perhaps as deep as the league has ever been at the position.
At this point I'd put it like this for most talented backfields in the country
1a) bama
1b) lsu
1c) georgia
2) arkansas

Meh, I think Keith Marshall is a tier one guy, but I digress. Especially if Henry and Payne are. At least he is proven through a full SEC season. Pending his return from his ACL injury, of course.
But the SEC has always been loaded with talent at RB, not surprising to see all these NFL caliber RB's in our conference. I mean, LSU, UGA, and Bama all have about 2-3 guys each who possess NFL talent.

My list was more of a prediction for the end of the year than a list for the beginning

as bad as I hate to admit it Henry is gonna be tough to handle.

For me it is b/c he fumbles so much.

Henry is hard to judge.

but he has had 1 breakout half against a B12 team. Let him earn it first.
Pretty much broke out in his only significant time with the ones. I'm not sure what else he could have done given that he killcrushed what was in effect his only opportunity against a better squad then he had.

Eddie Lacy also had a fumbling problem early in his career and managed to remedy it. Four fumbles is too many for a 13 game schedule, but this problem will be worked out in the offseason. I tihnk they were just magnified this year because they came at the most inopportune times.

THANK YOU. said from a Bama fan himself. Everybody slow your roll on the guy

Yeldon has cost Alabama two games in his career with fumbles and almost cost them a third.

i think marshall's game could struggle coming off the ACL... his best atribute is speed, and that'll be somewhat negated due to the injury. He lacks the raw power of gurley... his vision is good, but he's not exactly a sharp cutter.

Again, this will be remedied or his playing time will decrease.
Trent Richardson had 4 fumbles in 2010 and then only 1 in 2011 with a much bigger work load. It's just a thing that Yeldon is going to have to focus on this offseason.
Let's also not forget that Yeldon gained the same amount of yards this year as a sophomore behind a rebuilt OL as Lacy had as a senior behind one of the best OL's in CFB history.
So let's all take a step back and breathe and not be a prisoner of the moment when it comes to DH. He will get his.

He has. The good thing though is that it's correctable. It's something that can be coached. His natural talent is not though. There have been some great backs play at Alabama and TJ is the only one to start his career with consecutive 1,000 yard seasons.
A back that has an 800 yards and no fumbles talent ceiling is just as valuable as a guy that can run for 1300 and put the ball no the ground, but Yeldon's problem is fixable. He's still a force to be reckoned with
