DJ Welter
Honestly I thought he was a better linebacker than Karnell Hatcher. Welter was bad but that's because he didn't have any talent. Hatcher wasn't talented and played scared
Marcus Carter deserves a mention for Alabama. He was such a little pussy.

Thorp is still in the NFL.

Bama QB Brandon Avalos. I defy anyone, anywhere to name a worse quarterback to start a college football game

Also Tommy Beecher.
I don't even count him. Beecher started only 1 game in his career, and technically he was 1 -0 with a blowout win over Russell Wilson's team, just Beecher had nothing to do with it. On the other hand, I had to sit through damn near a whole year of Orth. Chris Smelley could compete for worst starter ever though.

Marc Guillon. Worse than Avalos or Pennington. Shannon Brown was the biggest puss to ever start for Alabama.

My fellow AU brethren are overselling Jake Holland. He wasn't very good, but he was far from the worst to start at AU, much less the SEC.
I'm assuming most of y'all are too young to remember this guy:
His brother was pretty good, though.

Well he did start. It was only one game but it was a start haha. I thought about putting Smelley too but I thought well who was the absolute worst to start. Right now it's between Mitch and Beecher, regardless of how many games.

How was Freddie Kitchens Bama QB 95-97 not mentioned on this list?
He could not hit the side of a barn, would make Jordan Jefferson look like Joe Montana.

Alabama had some dreadful secondaries pre-Saban...
Milo Lewis
Tony Dixon
Marcus Carter (played in Saban's first year)
Wayne Bacon
They're definitely not historically bad, as most have no clue who they are, but they are legends for Bama fans who suffered through the early aughts.

I remember how excited I got when he transferred to Bama.

Not sure why a few people said jarrett lee. I think people tend to forget, he was the last quarterback to beat alambama. And a undefeated season most of the season in till Jordan Jefferson screwed the pooch. Can't change the past but I think we would have another national championship if the les mile/jj love affair wouldn't put him back on the team.
