66 years old…a little long in the tooth. A good coach.

Good hire. But, Michigan will be down for a couple years with the idiotic coach running the program.

Whittingham's father, Fred, played for the Saints.

I think he should have stayed at Utah... but he's going to get "haha, f*ck you" money at Michigan for a few years.

Generational wealth is hard to turn down.

He was out at Utah regardless of this Michigan HC job opening up.

Yeah. I am absolutely certain that had nothing to do with him leaving Utah. Good point.

Well yeah but considering it’s probably a gap hire until they find the next lane Kiffens kinda guy. Still going to win more than lose

DeBoer went 9-4 his first year. Improved to 11-3, SEC title game, second round of the playoffs in his second year. Yeah, real stupid.

Did people miss he “retired” from Utah in the middle of December like two days after Moore had his mental breakdown?

Pathetic hire for a supposed top college job. This hire is as exciting as if they hired Brohm. Both coaches do well with the talent they got and win games but arent game changers. Brian Kelly would have actually been a better pick than this guy and thats saying something. Kelly has accomplished more and knows what coaching big programs is all about. Whittingham?....not so much. When Sherrone got fired....Michigan fans were talking DeBoer, Marcus Freeman, John Harbaugh, Elko.....overinflated egos thinking they could get whoever they wanted.... And now look at 'em...they got reduced to a 66 year old dude that his last coaching gig was Utah.....

Wittingham is a great coach. Look at what he has done at Utah of all places. He will make Michigan competitive without scandal
