I'm a Bulldog fan myself , but the maroon kind as in MSU. Honestly , the other Bulldogs in the SEC , the UGA ones , have been the most impressive to me in week one. I know it is early , but I am sold on UGA. They look strong to me.

I think SC is a much better team then Clemson. Look for SOS to rebound in two weeks.

I'd probably give the nod to us given that it was a road SEC win against a team with the longest home winning streak. However, UGA is impressive and deserves a lot of credit for their game and their team.

Someone else brought this up in another thread, but I think it is important to remember that South Carolina hasn't played a team with an offense like aTm runs in awhile.

they play Clemson every year, their offense is very similar to ours

In my opinion A&M.

I've made a couple of trips to Columbia and it's one of the toughest road games in CFB since Spurrier arrived.

Still worried about our ability to throw the ball down field. We barely tried last night. Hopefully getting JSW and Mitchell back will help with that.

So all spread teams are the same?

Their packaged plays and tempo are very similar to ours. If you didn't know that now you do. It's okay to be wrong

I'm actually a little surprised that A&M hasn't gotten as much praise as UGA has for their win; nothing against UGA. I guess we will find out when UGA plays South Carolina next week?

Week after next, actually. Aggies deserve a LOT of credit. I expect a VERY tough game against South Carolina. I believe the Aggies made a very good team look bad. Spurrier hates georgia and will put all his eggs in the Beat Georgia basket.

It's a lot closer than you're making it sound. UGA had to replace their DC and was playing a lot of freshmen (9 total). We also had to replace the best QB we've ever had. And still, we soundly beat a ranked opponent to open the season and looked very complete in doing so. A&M's win was outstanding for all the reasons you listed, but I think our D showed a lot more than theirs. Offenses are completely different so I won't try to compare (UGA is a ground attack, A&M through the air).

UGA impressed with the defense in the 2nd half

True...but A&M impressed all game long. They gave the gift that kept on giving.

I'll tell you in a couple weeks. It's nearly impossible to judge a win week 1.

While it's true that SC was ranked higher (9Th, I believe?)...make no mistake that Clemson was ranked 13th. No pushover at all. However, A&M was dominant from start to finish. I have to admit I was pulling for South Carolina. (East pride and all)
But, even while the score was close I just felt like SouCar was out of it. Just a feeling.

I will say this:

A&Ms win was definitely more important in that it flat out exposed most of the deficiencies USCe has. We have so much game film to go off and we will have 2 weeks to study. Plus, USCe has to face East Carlina (another air road offense) and with Davis hurt, they have no way of accurately duplicating what they'll face in our rushing attack.

In other words, thanks for doing us a solid Aggies

A&M's win was better:

1) On the road
2) Higher ranked opponent with more expectations (South Carolina supposed to have better season than Clemson)

Both wins were very impressive though.

he really can't afford to lose that one either. If he starts out 1-2 and 0-2 in SEC play, the entire season could go south fast. They had high expectations.

They have a lot to correct but I do think they matchup a lot better vs UGA. I expect it to be closer and I don't think it'll really be a good measuring stick of UGA vs A&M. The two offenses have such different strengths.

What do you think about UGA's passing game?

A fair and good point. I think A&M did not show a run game, and Georgia did now show much of a Passing game. I think both teams can run and pass respectively, though.

Just glad to be in the argument and not suck at the moment.

I can't take anything away from aTm as they played the first game of the season under a microscope and they played it brilliantly.
