Bama
LSU

i don't know really where to go after that. you could say Ole Miss because they have no where to go but up. you could say UGA because they probably have the most likely scenario to have the biggest come-back from a bad season, season. hell, in spite of the hellish nightmare this season turned out to be for UF, you could still say they do... but in the end, i think there are only two real FOR SURE answers here.

When the last time you heard someone say i'm going on vacation to arkansas,,,,,if so it was because they didn't have the budget to go anywhere else.

We have had a considerable population increase in areas due to people moving here to retire.

Arkansas has some amazing state parks that attracts out of state people who chose to vacation here.

Try harder...

I have to give it up to Hot Springs, AR. Amazing place.

That being said, I love my home state like no other place. Fantastic food and music, unique culture, wonderfully laid back and generous people.

This. No doubt, I would put AU in here but Gus the bus aint gonna be there too much longer and losing a good offensive coordinator sometimes means the world. See us.

my dad grew up in hot springs... definitely interesting place. i basically have two memories of that place. my grandmother's house, and the interesting hot springs park... or whatever it's called. it was kinda weird to put my hand on some hot arse water that had algae growing on the rocks it came out of... you kinda wouldn't expect to see the algae.

*edit*

i really don't know why i just posted that.

I don't want to see Florida's name on any list until we get a new OC. Then, when we find what direction our offense is headed, hopefully we have the QB to fit the system. For now, we don't deserve to be on any list that will be competing for immediate National Championships. Not until change occurs.

Has it ever donned on you LSU is become Les relevant each year and Arkansas is on the upswing. Maybe by next year you will get it. Louisiana is a dump, who would want to live in BR???OR NOLA???

Wait a second. LSU has improved their overall record by one win a year since 2008 ended. LSU is remaining relevant. Arkansas looks good and will continue to look good but all of this BS about Arky taking LSU's spot in the limelight is a little much. By the way, your grammar is horrible. Did you get your education in Arkansas?

Please. People come here on vacation all the time. We have some of the best lakes/rivers in the country. Not to mention the great views in the ozarks. Cool little towns like Eureka Springs. Hot Springs, as posted above, is a great town.

However, I don't dislike LA. We have nothing that compares to New Orleans. But that doesn't make LA better.

I agree with the sentiment of your post, but this isn't the best evidence to support your argument. We have improved by an average of 2.5 wins a year since 2008 (2 in 09 and 3 this year).

It would appear to me that there are a few factors that impact any teams' immediate (and beyond) futures. Those include coaching prowess recent recruiting/talent available. Historical perspectives are valid issues for discussion as well, although given enough time, any and all programs will eventually regress towards the mean for at least short periods of time. Given the above, I'd opine that there are a few programs that appear to be in good shape.

1)Bama: great coaching, great talent pool, proven program. Period.
2a) LSU: good coaching, great talent. Lack of offense is a real weakness. The recent trend against Arkansas is evidence that the gap between those two is closing.

2b)Florida: Meyer has recruited very well, but I think many of us wonder if Mullen was the power behind the throne all along. I'm going to guess that this year was an aberration.

3a)Georgia: good coaching and talent, but I really question if Richt is ever gonna' really get over the hump against Florida.

3b) Arkansas: Great coaching(especially on offense,) but recruiting is a real question. Is Petrino a better judge of talent than Rivals? Only time will tell, although there is evidence that he my be.

3c)Auburn: rebuilding talent, but will that incredible O continue once Gus leaves?? Look no farther than Florida to see how far an offense can fall when a great coach departs. If GUS leaves this season, Auburn falls to the next tier.

4a,b,c) USCe-coach and talent are there, but still not able to get over the hump. Will they ever?; MissST-coach is very good, talent improving, but if Mullen leaves...big problem; Tenner- great history, but coach is a bit of an unknown. I think they have some serious issues that must be addressed before they contend

I have to disagree with you concerning Baton Rouge. I have never lived there but have visited more times than you can count.

Of course, to everyone other than lifer's from New Orleans, NOLA is a dump. It is interesting to visit but I would NEVER live there.
