Oh lord, you sure you're not really an aggie? Only an aggie would claim they had the best team because that was the majority opinion just before they got their brains kicked in.

Come on man what exactly is a poll? It's an opinion get it? No sense in you getting all mad either, I never make fun of people just because they are stupid.

Because thats a lie, the only thing you won was an opinion and a fake trophy. When it came down to the actual results on the field you lost.
Last year the polls said aggie had a much better team than the Hogs. But when final whistle had blown aggie only had half as many points on the board. Should they have celebrated and claimed victory because the opinion was they had the better team?

I’m unaware of any unclaimed titles where a school won one of either the AP or UPI, and obviously that would never happen with a school winning both, as you know.
And on the flip side, I think it’s a really short list of claims solidly in the poll era (let alone the 60’s) where a school claims a title where they didn’t win at least one of those. I’d actually like to see that list- there would be some wild stories to be told there for sure.
Arkansas got screwed in ‘64 and I don’t mind admitting it. Nor do I care if they want to claim it even though they very clearly didn’t “win it with the system that was in place at the time.” Where they do themselves a disservice, however, is when they have posters like the ones here denying the reality that this is a controversial claim, and lashing out at others for being “stupid” for recognizing indisputable facts (location of the two trophies that mattered) over the basis of Arkansas’ claim (an arbitrary interpretation of fairness).
