Non SEC, but I never understood why Saint Louis U hasn’t claimed 1906. Invented the forward pass and went 11-0 on the season. C’mon

If 1964 is a bogus title for Arkansas then they need to go ahead and claim 65 and 77.

Arkansas barely lost 13-9 to Texas. Notre Dame lost to a 5-6 Ole Miss team.

Look man, everyone here agrees with you that it sucks Arkansas didn’t win the title in 1964. They may very well have had the best team but they simply didn’t get it done. But man, claiming a FWAA title in the 60’s, that’s just pure desperation. Not a good look bro

1919 uses math polls that weren't created until the 1960s.
1927 uses the Sagarin poll.
Neither of them were claimed by Texas A&M until they came to the SEC.
At some point someone will probably create a poll that says just about anything. Sorry, but at some point you kind of have to say new math polls don't really count.
But I will give A&M credit for 1919 because of the undefeated season.

Moving on, it has pretty much been a joke over the course of history, as far as claimed titles overall.
I was looking at this stuff about a year ago. I had no idea that there have been years that you've had several schools claiming NC's the same year (ranked #1 in different polls, I suppose.)
I'll go a step further and say that even with the CFP, it feels kinda rigged because we have many of the same teams ranked highly to start every year.
I think it'll be a lot better once they actually expand the playoff to 8 or 12.
Anyway, thanks for at least making an attempt to be objective in the OP, based on the metrics that you set.
