I was surprised to see that LSU has played Mississippi State the most at 107 games.

Also, LSU is second only to Ole Miss (3 games behind) on Mississippi St’s list of most-commonly played opponents.

LSU= Mississippi State (107 games)
Mississippi State= Ole Miss (110 games)

Lot of asswhippings over that 107 years. No wonder they're so grindalicious.

Also Bama's most played at 96 games, one more than their UT rivalry. Auburn's second most played behind UGA.

Put all 4 games(LSU, Bama, Auburn, OM) back-to-back to end the season for the better part of our existence, and you begin to get a pretty good view of both our futility and our lack of leadership over the years.

Recently, yes. But before the last two decades it was much more competitive.

Haven't verified, but I don't see how it could be anyone besides the Fighting Mark Richts of Georgia.

LSU leads 71–33–3

Couldn't have been all that competitive. We can do the year by year.

For Auburn:

1. Georgia: 117 games. 55-54-8
2. Georgia Tech (original SEC): 92 games. 47-41-4
3. Miss State: 87 games. 58-26-3
4. Florida: 83 games. 43-38-2
5. Bama: 78 games. 35-42-1

I don't think it surprises anyone that Georgia is #1, but Ga. Tech and Miss State being 2 and 3 are kind of surprising. Casual fans may be surprised that Bama is so low, not realizing the game was suspended for about 40 years.

It is cool to see that we hold leads over our top four most commonly played opponents (with the UGA series being ridiculously even through the years).

I know LSU struggled mightily with Miss. State when I was growing up in the late seventies and eighties. John Bond destroyed us every year he was there with that option. I remember some frustrating years and losing to Miss. State on the reg.

Not going to look it up, but I don't think we ever beat Bond.

I remember LSU losing at least three in a row to them while he was quarterback. The LSU defense had no answer for him.

Georgia

SCAR has played UGA 62 times since 1903.

UGA owned us prior to expansion in '92.

In the previous 39 meetings we had won only 8 games.

Since expansion, the series is now 14-9, still in UGA's favor, but things are beginning to even-out.

Series was 30-41-3 when Bond walked off the field in 83. Then I was born and it all fell apart.

The inverted wishbone is coming to LSU on Saturday fwiw...

Wow, that is a really interesting stat. There is a lot of history in the SEC and sometimes it is pretty surprising.
