I guess it's semantics.
White trash and redneck are two different things to me.
A redneck is a good ol' boy who would give you the shirt of his back and drop off deer meat as a Christmas gift.
White trash will break into your grandma's house and steal her medicine while she was sleeping.
fair enough

Definitely one thing a Tiger & Rebel can agree on

Alabama is #1. Even Alabama fans on here, which are unlikely rednecks for the most part, know this is true. It's a huge fan base with large swaths of the fan base living in pretty shitty parts of the deep south. It's no surprise, really. The rural Alabama fan is the epitome of what it means to be a redneck in America.
#2 is probably Tennessee, assuming we're going to include hillbilly fans. Again, big school with a big statewide fan base.
After that it gets muddier. Auburn has its share of rednecks. Probably a lower percentage than the Mississippi schools, but we're bigger so we probably have more overall.
LSU I'm sure factors in, but their level of trashiness is just different to the point that I can't really compare them to Alabama/TN/Georgia style rednecks.
I think Georgia may hold title to the largest contingent of middle class trash, as in, the guy struggling to make the payments on his 60k truck with a "Lake Life" sticker and a wave runner he doesn't use.
Arkansas people tend to stay tucked away in Arkansas so we don't really ever encounter the worst they have to offer.

Yes. AU isn’t on the list because the vast majority of AU fans are AU grads unlike the schools on the list.
How many Auburn fans do you think there are? Total?

MSU fans getting pissy about being labeled "rednecks" when most of them have named their cowbell is one of my favorite things about them.
Well let's not throw stones in glass houses. I grew up with mostly Ole Miss grads and they have this weird thing where they believe Ole Miss fans are comprised of nothing but the upper class elites, not wanting to take into account that Ole Miss is the largest state university in the poorest, fattest, most uneducated state in the country. Just based on sheer probabilities, Ole Miss has as many redneck fans as any other school in the South when all of us round out the bottom of the country in all of those stats. You can't just pool the demographics of the grove on Saturdays to paint an accurate picture of the entire fanbase.

No doubt about it that Ole Miss has plenty of redneck fans. But that has nothing to do with my point.

Yeah I did get a chuckle out of the whole “we don’t have rednecks here. They all went to Ole Miss” thing from State fans

In fact that the off-season is killing us, this type of shite becomes a discussion. Every state in the SEC is very similar with their culture. South Louisiana is a little different but other than that it's the same.

I mean I get it, and maybe it's just my group of friends, but the word "redneck" gets thrown around basically every time they discuss State fans, which I always just roll my eyes at, so really my point was Ole Miss fans are guilty of the same type of stuff.

This. Like different blends of coffee, but all are coffee just the same.

Yea, quite the difference between their student/graduates than all of ours

What's more redneck than The Running of The Gumps? Hell, even State isn't that bad!!

I said which were the most redneck
After living up here for the last 6 years and going back down for many home and away games.
I say they are equal. Some fan bases are just bigger than other (due to success, larger following, state size etc)

It's the most laughable thing that I can think of.
Don't forget about the old Left Field Lounge where the rednecks would literally build their own stands on the back of an old pick-up and then back it up to the wall.
MSU fans are, by far, the most redneck fans there are. And that's ok. Ole Miss has their share of rednecks as well. But we have a different kind of redneck. We're the kind of redneck that will spend $60k on a new pickup, slap a Mossy Oak sticker on the back, and never see a dirt road.

The majority of my interaction with Bama fans was a bunch of pipeliners around bham so they’re my No 1

I'm married in to some coonasses. We live around around Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge ain't that bad but farther south you go, the worse it gets. I went fishing with my father-in-law for the first time in Lake Verrett. It's was 4th of July weekend and the boat launch was packed. We asked a lady was there any packing spots. I couldn't understand anything she said. We just looked at each other and said ok. My wife's grandmother still can speak Cajun French.
