ARKANSAS?
came close in 1964, 1965, 1977

MISSISSIPPI?
came close in 1960 and 1962

MISSOURI?
came close in 1960 and 2007

TEXAS A&M?
won AP title in 1939, but since then not even close

GEORGIA?
won consensus title in 1980, but hasn't contended for once since 1982

Oklahoma. You're unbeatable this year. Stoops is a genius, the SEC is overrated, and Mayfield should be the Heisman frontrunner.

I love you.

Nope. If I had to pick one I'd say Georgia. The rest won't sniff the top 4 in December IMO.

Georgia

Very talent rich state.

IF they give CKS a blank check to Sabanize Athens, the Bulldogs will be collecting Natties constantly. If their president, administration and alumni try to scrimp on CKS's plan, they will be good, but not six sigma like Saban.

Good job rubbing salt into the wounds of those fan bases. Great thread and research.

So we should base everything off of the trophies that Alabama claims?

No. I am saying that recognized national championships are based off the AP and UPI/Coaches. That has been the standard since 1936 and 1950, up until 2013.

Those were the poll services that awarded NCs at that time. If they gave them to us, they're ours.

I'd say they contended in 2012. Had they held on to their 4th quarter lead against Alabama in the SEC Championship Game they would have faced Notre Dame in the BCS Title Game.

On that list I would say Georgia with Kirby at the helm. The only other team on that list with a shot is Missouri but I think they are headed to the shitter and that school may be a grambling before long.
