Our rushing attack is inconsistent at best, and it's mainly a result of the fact that our Offensive line is inconsistent. If we have holes, we run the ball very well. If we have to make 1-2 miss, we don't. We had huge holes against Miss St. I don't expect the same in this game. I actually think this will come down to how both teams QB's play on 3rd down. Allen has really struggled as of late. He made some big time 3rd down conversions this past weekend and got back into a rythym. I haven't really seen Mizzou play that much, so I don't know what to expect from the Lock kid.

Yes. He will also hand the ball to our backs a whole lot, and it has worked well.

So Franklin hasn't been playing? What exactly happened with Johnson by the way? He played a few years ago when Marshall was suspended and he wasn't terrible. Did he regress?

Questions for Auburn fans

I haven't really seen Auburn play at all this year, aside from pieces of the Clemson game.

What are the strengths of your team? I've heard your D is pretty good, but care to elaborate? D-line, Lb's, Secondary?

Will White play the whole game at QB? Does he run the read option as well? I assume they have some special packages for the Franklin kid.

Do you have a serviceable TE? This has been a major weakness for us as our MLB is good against the run, but can't cover anybody that has decent speed/quickness.

This Arkansas team is much different from years past. Until last week, we have not been able to run the ball effectively, so we have been forced to rely on the PA. Our offensive line is nowhere near what is was last year, with major weaknesses at the guard position (especially LG). We've got a good group of experienced receivers and our QB has been really impressive considering he gets drilled on almost every pass attempt. If we can establish the run, our offense is pretty tough to stop. We have two young RB's splitting carries. Neither is much of a homerun threat, but they are capable of making some big plays if they can find a hole.

Defensively, we are fairly average. We've got some good players on the line (Wise, Ledbetter, Agim), but they haven't quite lived up to the hype just yet. We lost our best LB against Bama, but his replacement played fairly well against Ole Miss. Our secondary has improved a good bit from last year, regardless of what the stats say. Our second best DB is out for the year and we will be without one of our corners for the first half (targeting). We don't have the athletes to press, so our DBs play 5-7 yards off the LOS. Slants over the middle have killed us this year.

Anyway, just looking for some insight. Should be an interesting matchup.

Since we're pulling hits from the past, that doesn't hold a candle to this gem.

Jones was a beast
We still haven't even played a SEC game yet, so I find it hard to say this is the battle for 2nd in the West. We will have problems with Garrett but Austin has shown the ability to move around, so we shall see. I'm more concerned with the ability to stop Knight from taking off and defending short slant routes. Aggies always have receivers that are good in space. It will probably be another shootout, with A&M having a slight advantage. Best receiving core Hogs have had in years. Should be a good game.

Meh, it's a three team conference...UT, Bama then a bunch of mediocre teams who beat up on even more mediocre teams or lost.

So you're delusional and also not good at math?

Onetime Arkansas basketball player William Mills, 26, of Fayetteville, died early Tuesday morning with multiple wounds from a shotgun and a semiautomatic pistol, police said.Michael Landon Byrd, 27, of Fayetteville was in custody Tuesday night on murder and assault charges, police said. Byrd surrendered to authorities about three hours after the shooting, his lawyer said. Mills was a talented basketball player kicked off the team during the 1986-87 season because of recurring drug problems.

He must've been talented if he was on the team at the age of -3 years.

We have as well. The fact of the matter is Bielema did a better job getting his team to rebound and play a 60 minute game that week.

I've watched TN all season and starting in the 2nd Qtr of that game we played listless and without passion.

Similar to how we played in the 2nd half against SC as well.

TN and Arkansas could play 10 times and they'd both win 5, they are both good teams with some flaws.

I can agree to that. I'm still surprised we won given the start of the game and our exemplary record against athletic QBs

the AP and UPI trophies are located in Tuscaloosa though.

So we should base everything off of the trophies that Alabama claims?
quote:

The only team we were as good or better than in this was Arkansas this year. We lost that game due to the heartbreak in Gainesville the week before. Also not like they are a terrible team.

We lost a heartbreaker in Dallas to A&M the week before, so what is your point? We would have beat you by 3 touchdowns if not for the game before? Dumb logic. You lost at home to a team that wasn't even clicking yet. That team is the team that lost to Tech and Toledo. They improved a good bit in the following weeks.

Since Butch's arrival in Knoxville ...

0-6

To be fair, he has to play Bama every year though.

Nah dude, don't lump us in with the 6-5 scrubs. We're 7-4 baby

The 6-5 scrubs that beat you in Knoxville?

So let's take current standings as the "preseason" rankings he was talking about. Games would include:

This is interesting...

Ohio st v Bama
Iowa v Florida
Michigan st v Arky
Michigan v LSU
Wisconsin v Ole Miss
Northwestern v Georgia
Penn st v Texas A&M
Nebraska v Miss st
Illinois v Tenn
Rutgers v Auburn
Minn v Vandy
Purdue v Kentucky
Indiana v Missouri
Maryland v South Carolina
