Which ot the 2 Miss. schools fared better in their new Head Coach acquisitions?

Biased, but I believe Ole Miss got a better coach. I think he will recruit better players and win more than Freeze did. With that said, State made a solid hire for sure. I was hoping for worse, but the SEC did get better in a span of 6 weeks

I don’t think you could really find two more comparable coaches tbh.

State and it’s not close. Kudos to state’s AD. Leach is a really good coach but a terrible employee. Nice to see an AD put the program above his own self interest.

Ole miss. Joey has coached and shown he can recruit in the sec already. I love me some leach but some of these southern mommas I’m not so sure he can recruit

Time will tell. I would not have been happy with Leach at Ole Miss and happy with Kiff. I'm glad it worked out the way it has. I think Leach is what MSU needs to be an exciting program. I think Kiff is what Ole Miss needs too.

Who cares who got the "better deal". Both State and Ole Miss got what we wanted an upgrade. As long as Ole Miss got an upgrade from Luke and we got an upgrade from Moorhead, we're happy

Too early to say. Leach has an incredible record of putting out solid but not elite teams at places of limited means. One season of less than 6 wins at Texas Tech and Washington State is impressive but that’s probably his ceiling. He also hangs around. If he can replicate that at State, they’ll be in good shape for probably a decade.
Kiffin has a much higher ceiling but also the potential to crater in spectacular fashion. He’s also shown that he’ll leave a job like he just heard her husband pull into the driveway home early from work.
It will take 2-3 years to know who won this off season.

Comparable coaches but gonna go with state...Leach has the track record of staying at places for the long haul while I think Lane will be quick to jump ship at any better opportunity.
