think it depends on each ones likes and dislikes in terms of what you like better. I am comfortable in LA. South Carolina for me personally has too much secessionist ideology even today and is still in many ways fighting the Civil war. Some people still like that lost cause mentality, particularly in parts of SC, GA and also maybe even rural VA, MS and AL.

Some states are basically socialist leftist type states, the great thing is there are 50 states and nothing that is the prerogative of the FEDS per US. Constitution defacto is in the jurisdiction of the states.

As the descendant of Italian Immigrants who arrived in New Orleans between 1890-1903, Louisiana is the one Southern State that works for. Obviously it does not work for you and I guess neither does MS and AL but I will let those folks defend their respective states.

Except the 10th Amendment is for all practical purposes, ignored by the Feds. Marriage, Education, Abortion, etc, are state issues, yet we now have federal mandates on them.

Name one. Didn't think so. Did you know a Chem E can actually be on the Board of Directors of a major Chemical Company? I'd like to see a professional that makes that kind of money. If you didn't waste your time writing over 16,000 post you might make some pocket change yourself. Do you know what a golden parachute is?

Yeah, Nola is a disgusting shithole right? It's head and shoulders above anything bama has to offer, I'm not even gonna get started on Mississippi. How many tourists spend their money in birmingham Alabama compared to new Orleans? It's not even close. Louisiana has 2 pro sports franchises and bama has zero and never will have any for a good reason, there's not enough money there to support one. There isn't shite in Alabama dude. Get real.

Wrong. Louisiana per capita beats Alabama in producing nfl talent overall.

That's the measuring stick of a state's greatness, right there. If you don't have a pro sports franchise, you might as well be declared uninhabitable.

Who cares about any of the other things going on in the state like international corporations building facilities there or great institutions of science and medicine? No pro sports franchise, no care.

I'd take any of the three vs anything up north.
