What if we said you used to be as good as NFLSU?
We can do that if it’ll cheer you up.

This is an interesting debate, but if you formed one NFL team using players from only those three schools (or even just Alabama and LSU), it would be an incredibly impressive group.
I'm not sure there's a combination of alumni from any other group of schools that could even rival it right now.
I guess maybe the Florida schools - Florida, Miami, and Florida State - would be the closest.

Absolutely

I feel good about OSU being able to pressure anyone, especially 2 rookie QBs. Tua or Burrow throwing into that secondary with the pressure up front I feel like would be damn tough.
Probably the same for Haskins and OSU of course, but OSU's DE, which is the 2nd premium position after QB, is a huge win

Thanks LSU for taking over the title of insecure U. I will admit it was kinda embarrassing

It's interesting that if you had done this in June 2018 that all 3 teams would have the same gaping hole - quarterback.
LSU and Alabama had Top 6 picks after only having 1 (who was one of the biggest busts of all time) in the last 50 years between them (LSU - Bert Jones 1973, Alabama - Richard Todd 1976).
Ohio State had a Top 15 pick and will have a Top 5 pick next year after not having a Top 15 pick in the last 35 years (Art Schlichter - 1983).
Pretty wild.

What isn't surprising is that QB improvement made the biggest difference for LSU.

I mean really they all do today. Burrow and Tua have never played an NFL snap and Haskins looked lost a lot of his rookie year.
Countless all world college QBs have been out of the NFL in 5 years. Sometimes the transition just doesn't work.
Winston and Mariota were thought to be for sure great starters. That COULD be all 3 of these guys by 2024

Bama has a huge advantage on the OL and DL.

Yep. Fortunately, LSU is closing that gap.

If you include second and third string for depth it's Alabama no contest.

How many of the LSU players have played or won the Super Bowl, as compared with Alabama's players? How many were first rounders?
surely that's it. you can't move them goalposts any further, can you?

I have seen very few LSU players in the Pro Bowl.
damn, looks like you can

Over LSU you mean specifically or both? I would say OSU has the best DL overall with the Bosa boys, Young and Cam Heyward.
