LSU is playing for an SEC championship.

If Alabama didn’t gag on a two point conversion, they’d be playing UGA for a CFP spot in two days and people would barely be talking about 8-4 LSU

Is that not what college football is about? What team has the most wins vs. the fewest losses at the end of the year? And then the best teams play? You think A & M should be in the SEC championship game since they beat LSU in their last game?

This didn't really need another thread, but since it's been made, it is making me curious why people are talking about this so much. No one said the system needed to be overhauled in the past when teams that weren't the perceived #2 team in the conference made the SEC CG.
Did anyone bitch about Mizzou playing Auburn in 2013 or did you guys really think they were better than Bama that year? What about when Tennessee made it over UGA in 2007 when everyone knew by the end of that season UGA was the better team and Tennessee got smashed by Cal OOC so UGA also had a better overall record and were ranked higher? No, because Tennessee beat UGA that year. And if it's because of the A&M loss, I don't remember the same energy for Florida in 2020 when they lost to a 3-5 LSU team at home the week before, and A&M actually beat them H2H that year.
This isn't a new phenomenon as far as SECCGs go but I've seen more people complaining about how the SECCG is decided this year than I have ever seen in the past. I don't get it, it's decided the same way it's always been.
