I agree. Javy had way more INT's than TM. Both had the same amount of TD's in their 2nd yr. Javy had WAY more return yards and TD's on ST's, and a higher average on PR and KR's. Javy had more sacks, and he also had more QB hurries. You're right. It's no contest.
Yes,but look at the number of turn overs and punt returns TM produced at critical times. This thread was started to Praise TM,not bash Javy.

Nothing will ever top our losses to La. Tech,N. Illinois and the worst,La. Monroe that decade.

Posted on 8/12/12 at 1:10 pm to Bernie Moore

Posted on 8/12/12 at 1:12 pm to thatdude1985
Not as many as you think

It's because of that All American career you had.

TM7 was a dynmaic and charismatic playmaker. Kid was a baller who had an uncanny nose for the ball and the endzone. Undersized and under recruited, he punched far above his weight. More than anything he had a knack for making explosisve plays at critical junctures that seemed to flip the dynamic and momentum of the game and give LSU a much needed lift at cruitical junctures. Without TM7, I think LSU has one ,maybe two losses possibly last year (no I don't think the Novemeber game would have been one of them). Yes he was exposed in the BCSCG, but he was still very dangerous when the ran him on those corner blitzes.
That said, he is a flawed individual and let his team down when they were posied for a title run and needed him the most. The OP is dead wrong to consider him one of the greatest in SEC history....the greatest are measured by titles and the breadth of their college careers and TM7 is found seriously wanting in those areas.

Rarely do people tune in to watch a defensive player but people did to watch TM. He was so much fun to watch when he was on and a very impressive play maker. Not the best down by down D back but had a nose for the ball and how to make things happen.
His judgement was extremely poor and he did let his teammates down, he has no one to blame but himself. As dynamic as he was, I think down by down LSU will be fine though.

OP said TM7 was one of the best play-makers in SEC history. You guys seem to be arguing he wasn't one of the best players.
I don't see anything wrong with saying TM7 was one of the best play makers to be in the SEC, even if it was a short time. Cam Newton was one of the most talented QB's to be in the SEC even if it was a short time.

Andrew Luck sucks? Eli Manning? A list too long to research and be posted? A championship takes about 40, 50 guys and a good staff.
