No offense. But that is a pretty Homer response.

The question was a strong one. Outclass.

In my head, where does UGA have a player drafted higher.
Or where does UGA have a player receiving a post season award.

I don't pretend to know how good Bama players are. But if I'm projecting post season awards, those would be my first picks (add Gaillard at center to this. Bama typically has one of the best centers so I left him off earlier with that in mind).

Swift has been playing lights out the past 5-6 games. He will probably be the best RB on the field Saturday, I don’t see how that’s close. More yards than either Najee or Damien. And higher YPC.

Holyfield has more yards than both of them too.

You don’t see how that’s close? You watched Najee Harris drag his nuts all over your defense last season. Swift averages about 3 more inches per carry than Najee this year fwiw.

Great player, but please spare me the “not close.” We have 3 backs that will all be selected in the first two rounds of the draft eventually

Swift has been healthy for all of about 4 games this year fwiw.

I think Najee and Swift are pretty even. Swift may be a little more of a threat to take it to the house.

Define what we’re comparing.

You’re talking about draft stock and eye test, which yes may be close between them.

I’m talking more of a production standpoint. And yes, Swift is about to surpass 1000 yards Saturday. UGA isn’t a one back offense either. Holyfield also sitting at 896.

I wonder what the defensive philosophy is to stop Bama? UGA staff gonna have to find some kind of mis match to attack.

you obviously cant just lineup against them try and punch them, where is Bama the weakest?

I think UGA is gonna try and eat up clock and establish some kind of run game, you need to play keep away from Tua and leave his arse on the sidelines.

good luck there tho

Rise, lets try to have some kind of semblence of a civil thread here, if that's even possible.

I wouldn't trade our tackles for yours. Jonah Williams is a 1st rounder possible top 10 pick. Wills is really good too.

Swift would get carries and Baker would start for sure.

Also I’m looking to capitalize on their kickoffs since they can’t get it to the 10 yard line.

Yes, please let UGA try and return those kickoffs that land just in front of the end zone. Bama’s FG kickers suck, but the kickoff coverage team is loaded with starters and the best athletes on the team. Saban wants teams to try and return it because it means 9/10 they’ll be starting short of their own 20 instead of a gimme 25.

Georgia's run game is better
Special teams is better

What is concerning to me is that in games against auburn, state and a&m, Bama had 6 or more yards to go on 3rd down 51 percent of the time. Tua continuously bails them out. Our lack of run production this season is going unnoticed but is glaring to me. If anybody has seen it too it's Kirby. I think he does what Steele did and play dime basically the whole game and dare Bama to run.

Auburn was able to establish a consistent run game against Alabama, but for whatever reason Gus seemed to abandon it too often.

UGA has the OL and RB to consistently get 3-5 yards per carry against Alabama. The strength of this Bama team is different from most years. They have a disruptive DL that can get to the QB, but they don't look to be as dominant at run stuffing against good rushing teams to my eye.

If you can establish a consistent run game against any team, you have a punchers chance of winning the game. Alabama's offense with Tua and their WR's is frighteningly explosive. The best thing UGA can do is possess the football with their run game and play action. Nauta is a real weapon in the play action game that they need to target early and often.

Last year UGA came out with a fantastic game plan in the national championship game. Can they come up with some new wrinkles again to throw Bama off? This UGA defense has an elite CB in Baker, but I think they will struggle to hold Alabama under 35 points.

The Saban machine Roll Tides through the Dawgs in what will be their only game within two scores this year (including the playoffs)... Alabama 38, UGA 28.

true, but he has been practicing non contact for 2 weeks, so he should see a good bit of playing time, probably obvious passing downs where UGA subs, so bama can sub him in.

Of all things that worry me with Bama.....a guy coming off ACL injury seeing his first action on the field is not one of them. I actually like that matchup

I don't see this happening. It very well could be a high scoring game. but, it seems when games seem this way, they end up ow scoring, so who knows?

My thinking, too.

Their 2 main running backs ran 29 times for 88 yards. That isn't abysmal but I wouldn't call it establishing the run game.
