Most Ohio State fans I know around where I live are not sold on Ryan Day. Their thinking is, doesn't matter if Day is there or not, they could get most any above average coach and win.

Well put it to you this way. 9-3 Earle Bruce teams were thought of in a much better light than Cooper’s teams, because unlike Cooper, Earle won a lot of games vs Michigan and did well in bowl games. It’s not a coincidence that after 13 years of Cooper, they won a championship two years later.

And two more after that with two different head coaches.

In the Cooper years it was brutal against Michigan. 2-10-1
Never won while I was a student in the early 90s
That is what made the recent stretch of 17-2 against Michigan so sweet

Tennessee beat them one year, Alabama beat them one year, Georgia beat them one year and South Carolina beat them. Three of those losses were by a touchdown or less. Only Carolina wasn’t close. lol go figure

Cooper’s first year they did beat LSU. But other than that, he was not great

Name me a starter or an impact player. Please we’ll wait.

Arvell Reese is currently projected to go number one in the next nfl draft and is from Ohio.

Ohio is a solid top ten state for high school talent, no where near Florida, Texas or some of the other southern states obviously but we have a good amount of talent and with only one big time school in the state we get our pick of the litter.

It is interesting though how according to a lot of sec fans Ohio State is so bad but we also recruit a good amount of 5 and 4 star players from the south, so do all of our southern players just quit being good at football once they cross the mason dixon line or how exactly does it work?

People in here will say that the demographic trend is northerners moving south so this negatively impacts the northern schools when it comes to recruiting. Yet at the same time, they’ll tell you that college football is more popular down there because it’s full of small college towns and they don’t have interest in the pro sports because the north is full of big cities lol. Make that make sense

Its become a yearly thing.

HUGH EDIT: Never met a state university of ohio fan that actually attended and graduated from the school. LMFAO

That’s one out 100. Keep going.

Any WR, QB’s, DB’s from this year or last year?

Also, make no mistake a LB playing against average competition and building up stats, will never go number one.

He sucked against Michigan AND he rarely won bowl games. His two biggest bowl wins were against Arizona State and Texas A&M. He was James Franklin before James Franklin

That Rose Bowl with ASU is one of my favorites ever.

Buckeyes were the best team in 1998 IMO. A&M played enough top 3 teams that season for me to opine that.

Got it so he sucks then if he isnt drafted number one.

Does your internet connection work ok? You can easily google where all these players are from.

I already posted a link to show that over 20 players on the team are from Ohio, including RB Bo Jackson and two starting Linebackers Reese and Styles. And three offensive linemen. There’s also a few starters not from the southern footprint but places like Indiana and Chicago and Minnesota.

We've beat them more recently than you guys have. I really dont know what this argument has to do with anything though. We've made the playoffs twice already after losing to them including a national championship run, regular season games really dont matter anymore.

Well there are 650,000 of us, so guess you don't get out much.
(slightly higher than the 200,000 Alabama alumni). How many of your fans are graduates of that highly acclaimed 169th ranked university?

In the last 4 years they have lost to Michigan they are

14-2 (national champs)
11-2
11-2
11-2

If you call that a recession then you have even higher standards for Ohio State than I do
