You think you'll ever renovate Rupp or build an entirely new stadium on campus?

The new basketball arena is in the works right now and we are adding more luxury boxes, new press box etc to Commonwealth. This summer we added new scoreboards and ribbon boards. There were plans of expansion as well, but this year kinda put a hold on that. Commonwealth is actually the newest stadium in the SEC (1974).

Went to the last Hog football game there. We got to tour Rupp and your practice facility for basketball which was really cool. I'd never seen Rupp in person and while it's cool nostalgic etc., it's not nearly as nice as Bud Walton as far as luxury boxes etc., just wondered if that was ever going to move

No just rumor mill stuff right now. A lot of people want renovations to football facilities before we get a new basketball arena and there is also talk of a new baseball stadium, so it's just a matter of which gets done first. It won't be the baseball stadium first, that's for sure, though.

Supposedly it will go in the parking lot of the hotel that is currently connected to Rupp, so it will be right next door. But the current Rupp wold have to go down to make room I'm pretty sure.

On one hand you have basketball schools: UK, Vandy, Syracuse, UCONN, Memphis, Duke, Kansas, UNC. On the other are football schools: LSU, Bama, Auburn, USC.

You have no idea how badly I wish we were a legit BB school. Unfortunately, our last elite 8 was '65.

The last two years have been lousy for UF, but I've got to think we at least improve somewhat in next year or two. Our 2012 class is pretty damn good so far, and I just hope someone actually can make an impact early on.

Bama owns Georgia. Hell, even Auburn, LSU, and Florida State get quality players in GA. How long until these clowns are gone, and these programs lock down their states?

GA has some of the most talented D1 prospects in the country and we're supposed to keep Auburn, LSU, and Florida State from getting players? Get real man. UGA goes into NC, SC, Fla, GA, and TN and gets great players too (AJ Green, Theus next year, mayube keith marshall, Derrick Henry year after). This whole "so and so owns the state of GA" is a bunch of BS. We aren't signing a large class this year, so obviously there are going to be other power programs coming into the state. Jesus

I don't really think Florida will ever really be good again. Tebow is so rare, and he was that University. Florida post-Tebow is like PSU post-Paterno. Jimbo is going to do big things in Tally, and Florida is full of Yankee transplants, so allegiances are transitory. It just seems like the three ringer coaches are all in the West (Miles, Petrino, and $aban), and it will take a lot to bring them back. Florida also has lost it's identity. It's about as Southern as Rutgers. I see them in a U-like twenty year slide into obsolescence. The sooner Boom is out the better.

Jesus. There was a time when both UF and FSU were strong and Tebow wasn't QB then. And FL's identity is the same. Our team just sucks this year.

Why is always the new idiots who start threads this full of shite?

I swear this is the third thread this week about how the east sucks and should be kicked out with no facts or figures just what the 12 year old op sees on ESPN right after watching Family Guy. Grow up. Whatever team you cheer for will be down at some point and you'll feel like a dumbass then. Trust me, these things go in cycles. Anyone older than 12 could realize that.

Oh and Alabama does not own UGA as of late, we are 3-1 in our last 4 meetings. Again 12 year old's wouldn't remember that.

Florida pretty much sets the standard not sure why you give UF a kinda then list those other schools. Over the past 5 years, 2 basketball NCs and 2 football NCs, looks like pretty good balance, what have those other schools done?

I am thinking you don't like UF too much...

But still led the East all-time in head to head games at least from 1992 through 2001. I'm sure the lead is much bigger now, of course, but the West has pretty much always led the East head to head.
