When will someone opt out of the playoffs?

It’s bound to happen. So much money at stake. We’ve seen entire years skipped already but when does someone back out of the playoff(s) and title game?

Likely never. You don't have that type of attitude on championship level teams.

Whenever the playoff is expanded, you will see it happen. Players used to never opt out of bowl games. Now it's common.

I just can’t see an actual opt out of the playoffs. The NIL money actually helps in this regard as it closes some of the gap between college and the NFL in terms of total income package

About the closest I could imagine is a guy who is injured and *could* play but elects to take the safe route.

A high draft prospect that has nothing to gain regardless if was the playoffs or the Outback.
