If you can run the ball like that every game than that will change things.

There was no weakness other than depth.
And everyone knew that time heals wounds.
Kendal Milton is finally healthy.
Andrew Paul got some great runs in garbage.
It's funny what adding 2 healthy backs to the roster can do.
Just wait until we get our best offensive lineman back (along with Roderick Robinson).

When was the last time the number one ranked team wasn't in the top 50 rushing offenses?
A few things to consider:
-when breaking in a new QB, why not take advantage of the weak early schedule to work on the passing game and build his confidence
- OCs build a game plan around what advantages they see. So, designing a game plan that is run-heavy, pass-heavy, or balanced attack may/should vary
- we are only halfway through the season and just now scratching at conference play; all numbers will change
- UGA is just now getting their top backs healthy, no?
With all of the above, it makes sense that they are currently outside the top 50. All that said, it's a new era of CFB. The weight is easily on elite QB and passing game for success. But to think UGA isn't capable of both and will not improve over the season is ridiculous.

I'll take our running game over Beck anyday and Milton is still very dangerous when he's clicking.
Anyways, you would be saying he same thing if Tennessee was ranked number one but could only pass the ball.
That and the lack of a dline prowess are usually the main shite talking line used by SEC fans in general towards most OOC top 10 ranked teams. The term is a finesse offense.
A dominant running game with a shutdown defense led by a dominant line and a good QB (doesn't even have to be a future NFL player) are usually the Hallmark traits of a championship SEC team with a few exceptions here and there.

This thread ain't about Tennessee. We have talked about that game. We aren't the same team that went to the swamp.
This thread is about modern SEC fans endorsing finesse offenses and proudly.
I don't think anyone even just 10 years ago would have stomached saying it's okay for a championship caliber team to have a running game that's not even in the top 50.
Maybe UGA is just clicking now and will improve on the ground as the season progresses, but that's a pretty alarming stat for me. I don't believe Beck is good enough to make up for that. Guess we will see.

Because of home wins over UTSA and USCe?
The next three games for UTk will be a better litmus test than the last 2.

No UGA fan would be dumb enough to blast a Tennessee offense for their inability to run the ball if Tennessee was leading the conference in rushing TDs.

We aren't the 2022 or 2021 D Line. But opposing running backs are well under 3 yards per carry against us this season. That is a tribute to the defensive line.
Auburn played 4 wide with a running back. Our box was 3 down linemen and a true freshman ILB. We shut down their inside run with our 3 down linemen.
As is typical for UGA, we are a "no-name" defense.

It's a "pretty alarming stat for" you...? Uh, well, on behalf of the entire Dawg fanbase, we're all now shaking in our shoes over the fact that you are alarmed.
Meanwhile, UGA is just gonna keep winning games and championships. Can we PLEASE, for the love of all that is Holy, let this dumb thread die?

Please post the schools, rushing yards, and that school's ranking that got them the #2 ranking.

Lol
It is week 6.
UGAs ranking sucks?
But everyone else's rankings are invalid because it is only halfway through the season.
Who the frick argues with this type of logic? Lol
UGA is overrated. They will go 1-5 the rest of the way (7-5).
No offense.
No defense.
And special teams blows.
Bet the moneyline on vandy

The only glaring weakness UGA has had this season is the one that anyone with any CFB knowledge at all identified when the OU game was cancelled and the new schedule came out...complacency and boredom. Playing as many cupcakes as UGA has played it is nearly impossible for a bunch of young 19 and 20 year olds to get excited about playing a game. UGA will not be bored or complacent the rest of the way. Vandy is in a BAD spot unfortunately. UGA did exactly what most knowledgable fans expected them to do against a pretty good Kentucky team...and in the process laid aside the complacency and boredom which was the only issue UGA had earlier in the seaason.

Both teams will be improved and should both be good come November. It's going to be a war in Neyland. Can't wait for it.
I'm glad we will have this big of advantage on the ground against you and Bama though.

You've played one defense with a pulse and they held you to 100 yards rushing on 3.3 YPA and 16 points.

This entire thread is more proof to the that the game of football is a watered down flag version of its old self.

You're the only person who would take Milton over Beck.
We are the no. 8 offense, and the no. 10 defense in the country.
We are also the no. 1 team in the country and current back-back national champions. Tennessee hasn't been relevant since 1998. You might want to worry about your own team.
