Why not? The SEC tournament for Mens and Woman’s Basketball is played in Nashville already. Why not move the football as well especially when they get a new dome football stadium down town? And even if you didn’t want to stay in a hotel in Nashville you still have areas like Murfreesboro, Franklin, and Brentwood, all with in 30 minutes you could stay that are much safer to travel around than Atlanta.

Put it in Oxford. It'll be pretty central once OK and TX join and it's not like OM ever gets there anyway

As someone who can walk 10-15 blocks and see where the new stadium will be, this would be awesome.

I don't think it will.

When Oklahoma and Texas join the SEC, New Orleans will be as centrally located as Atlanta.

Game should be moved around the conference. New Orleans, Atlanta, Nashville, Houston, Dallas, Jacksonville just to name the larger cities. Having it in the East every year has got to go.

GT isn’t irrelevant in football because they aren’t SEC, it’s because they won’t spend money.

That's part of it, but the main thing is their academic requirements are about as high as Vandy's. Let's face it, most good football players want to play football and major in basket weaving. Not many top recruits want to major in the STEM fields.

I think the contract in Atlanta ends 2025? Whenever it ends it will be up for bid. Atlanta, New Orleans, Nashville, Dallas, etc.

Money is undefeated.

And honestly, who wouldn’t love an SEC championship in NOLA or Nashville?

As someone who just returned from Nashville, the answer is yes. Nashville is 10x better than Atlanta.

Nashville almost got the SEC baseball tournament this last time around when the contract ended at the MET. They won’t miss next time. Hoover had to invest $80 million to keep it from going to Nashville.

Should the SECCG alternate between Atlanta and Nashville? I’d like to see it

1. Atlanta will not be interested in having a game every other year. We can move the game if that is what the SEC wants, but the ACC will move into Atlanta full time and freeze the SEC out.

2. The airport argument doesn't bother me. If necessary, the airlines can add some flights provided there are slots available.

3. Why are Alabama fans starting off season threads in the middle of football season?

Yes but if they were an SEC team, their whole dynamic could change.

No. It wouldn't. GT is not a force in football because they don't want it to be. They want to focus on academics. (Kudos to them) Their administration is simply not interested in trying to become a force in football. If they were they would have already attempted it.

It's like people don't look at the board before posting a thread.
Unusual for this same thread to pop up twice in one day.

Alternate ATL and Nashville

Both are gonna be incredible stadiums (Mercedes Benz already is) in very desirable locales for the SEC.

No. It’s the northern most part of the conference.

After the new additions...this will be the SEC map. 5 of the other SEC teams will be around the same latitude as Nashville (UT, UK, OU, Arkansas, MIZZOU).

Also...does how far north it is really matter if is a dome?

It won’t. The SEC has contracts with Atlanta.
