A&M had the #1 Class in '87 and both A&M and Jimbo have a lot of Top 5 Classes. It's not like this is completely out of left field especially when you consider everything A&M has going for it in terms of facilities, location, and resources. Amazing how butthurt you guys get about someone outside of your approved group of schools winning the recruiting wars.

We will have to see what develops on the field but this at least puts A&M talent wise in a position to compete with anyone. Tough thing in the SEC is multiple schools can say the same and overall talent is still stronger at UGA and Bama, just not by much.

NCCAs SWAT team would have kicked in the doors at the Manning center if this happed at OM

That's fine but it still defies logic that A&M significantly outbid Bama, UGA, LSU, Texas, and OU for all these players by such a wide margin to make that the sole reason. All of those schools play the game as well. I don't deny NIL and A&M's using it to their advantage at all making a difference I just think it is overstated. It probably helped A&M more than anything that LSU and OU had coaching changes and Texas went 5-7 without a lot of real hope of significant improvement short term to go with just a lot of things breaking our way. It all works together.

If it makes you feel better to just say it was $$ that's fine, can't prove or disprove it either way. If that's the case though you better get used to A&M being on top though because we can outspend all of you if it is that simple. It's not.

Hey, I'm perfectly fine with being the villain. For the record, screw you all. It's about time that A&M started flexing its muscle and stopped being Mr Nice Guy. Nice Guys do not win. NIL is the perfect opportunity for A&M to force its way into relevancy. BTW, wait until you see what the Texas fan base is capable of as well.

Well that’s exactly what happened with Jacoby Matthews. He wanted to go to LSU but he and his family felt like they couldn’t turn down the money when A&M upped their offer twice.

Whether that’s the norm or not going forward we’ll have to see. LSU is coming off back to back .500 seasons, has an entirely new staff, and our boosters just paid $17 million to get rid of O. Given all that we didn’t do badly at all and yes we have NIL deals of our own we’ve used to help make that happen and keep most of our current roster in place.

While we have a solid group of committed individuals to fund these things, we don’t have the number of them some other schools have so you have to go to the same people over and over. I can understand why they’d be a little weary given that LSU has come to them to replace coaches in 3/4 biggest sports in the last 2 years, plus the huge buyout for Pelini last year. Hopefully a year from now they’ll be ready to go again.

It’s not the only thing most of the time, though for some kids it will be. I don’t think like Maryland or something would be able to pull of what A&M did or anything. But it’s absolutely the difference between a top 10 class and a #1 class. Not sure how that’s even debatable.

Texas as a state has some of the best talent in the country, UTexas usually had one of the top recruiting classes annually. Yet the entire State of Texas has only won one NC since 1970.

The boosters cause the problems.

Being you said it. I will call you on it. In his head coaching career name all jimbo's top 5 classes? In the last 15 years name all aggies top 5 classes? I know you did the research before posting it. It shouldn't be that hard for you.

saban has been pulling top 2-3 classes for a decade+. uga has been doing it for a while with rich and kirby has even kicked that up a notch. aggies didn't get that much closer to them with just this one class.

Top 20 possibly more high school QBs all put up highlights just as good every year.
