What about when he beats Auburn in the Fiesta Bowl?

We won't be there this year and and even if we were, I assure you Gus would find a way to lose that game. Or do you think Gus was a good coach? Or a good bowl game coach?

No, the problem is that Saban was across the state at the more well known program.

I didn’t love Gus, but his expectations were stupid and ignorant. The likely best college football coach of all time and best recruiter of all time was across the state in a state of 4 million people. People expected Gus to routinely overcome that, in the hardest league schedule wise and the most competitive league in regards to recruiting at probably the 5th or 6th hardest school in the league to recruit.

Auburn fans are our own worst enemy, the expectations are absurd. The buyouts and salaries are absurd.

Dumbass observation. Gus held his own against Saban. Or at least better than other coaches. His problems were against programs he should have better success. The fact he couldn’t win in Bowls and his team would lay an egg at least once a year didn’t help.

Considering Gus is telling recruits he has a better offensive line in Orlando than he had at Auburn should tell you everything you should know if one reads between the lines. Aubie is not going to miss Gus. Aubie picks up a couple offensive LT’s in the portal he could be dangerous and not a quick out.

I hope Gus goes to UCF and rediscovers himself.

Gus' biggest problem is he let pundits talk him out of what he does instead of using what has won him championships.
Pro Style QBs only make him average.
Running QBS won him championships.

But he was so determined to prove he could develop NFL QBs...cost him.

We could have absolutely done better.. if we
had a better coach.

Not a huge fan of UCF, but I would laugh my arse off at them making it to the playoff or even the final. Auburn and its fans would never recover - poor blokes.

I agree. I was speaking more toward roster management and recruiting analysts. Felt very intuitive.
