I'm still melting that they didn't fire his arse immediately after the 2016 Clemson game. I could care frick all what he does at directional florida school.

Why would I care about that? I assume you know the difference between playing in the SEC and whatever the frick schedule UCF plays?

Or should we have kept paying a guy who didn't win a single game on the road vs. our top-3 rivals, lost to Will Muschamp, lost to Jeremy Pruitt, lost to UCF, lost to Minnesota, ost to Northwestern, damn near lost to Ole Miss and Arkansas this year AND left us with a recruiting class in the 60s?

Jesus Christ, can we get some better trolls in here?

I hope he does well at UCF. Then I can watch all you retards bend over backwards pretending he was actually a great coach.

I don't think he was a great coach, but I also don't believe the guy hired to replace him will be any better. I'm not sure Auburn could accomplish much more than they did - given the circumstance of sharing the state with Bama, and UGA's reemergence.

If that happens, it’s the Vols that will be melting.

Bama is one thing. Gus lost to some shitty UGA and LSU teams. His recruiting classes were top-12 average and he was being paid like a top-10 coach and he only finished like that a couple of times.

Nobody knows how Harsin will do at this point, but I do know he doesn't run a gimmicky offense that hasn't changed in a decade, so that's an improvement.

I didn't even go into the HS QB careers he ruined.

I don't dislike Gus. I really do hope he does well and I will be rooting for him. But he pretty clearly didn't have what it takes to compete in the SEC, particularly on offense. And when I read post-mortems about his Auburn career, they confirm that he never made any attempt to adapt or learn in the offseasons.

That is your emotional opinion. Auburn has played for a national title twice since Saban has been at Bama and Gus actually accomplished more than Kirby has when you look at his record vs Saban. He had as many SEC titles.

You might be correct, but I will take a Harsin that can evaluate talent and develop it, over "shake and bake" Gus for one more minute.

Here in metro Atlanta there were multiple billboards along the freeways back in February that had a picture of Gus and the UCF logo that said: “The Future of College Football is Here!” I just laughed.

I don’t doubt Gus could succeed at a small, non-blue blood football school like UCF. But, he can’t play with the big boys at the Power 5 week to week.

He literally coached at auburn for years, its not like they passed up on some upcoming auburn guy that's about to light the world on fire that they never got to see. They just didn't want to settle for the mediocrity he produced. Just like you wouldn't. Its like saying what if Mike Shula went and won 5 sunbelt conference titles in a row and asking if you would miss him.
