re: When Gus goes 11-1 or 12-0 at UCF

Gus was what he was...he had some great highs, but some serious lows. He's on par with most Auburn coaches. I suspect the biggest issue most Auburn fans have with Gus is that the program felt a bit gimmicky and maybe not professional enough. If that makes any sense.

That is your emotional opinion. Auburn has played for a national title twice since Saban has been at Bama and Gus actually accomplished more than Kirby has when you look at his record vs Saban. He had as many SEC titles
Yeah... I'm a little confused about what you're disagreeing with me about.
What more should Auburn have accomplished than what Gus did? Given the circumstance, he did about as well or maybe better than anyone could have, IMO.

Hope he does. We don't have the level of gus fatal attraction obsession piglets have with the guy.

I think I understand your meaning but Gus ran a very good program. Academics, discipline and pride were always strong. We all got tired of his offense but I thank him for the program he ran.

I wish Gus well. If he does go 12-0, it will cement the fact that a non-P5 Program doesn’t belong in the CFP conversation.

Gus had some very good wins. His problem was he couldn’t take advantage of them. He was his own worst enemy.

literally no auburn fan will care
He might do well in shitty lower conferences, but he has no ability to succeed in the SEC
all he does is waste talent

I was shocked Tennessee make the offer to Gus. If he is successful at UCF, I think he will be South Carolina or Tennessee’s next coach.

I would be very much surprised if he didn't win double digits next year. His system is based on mismatches and at the G5 level you can find a lot more of those per game.
Not to mention UCF is THE P5 team in waiting. My cat could coach them to a 9 win season while spending most of her day sleeping or licking her blorthole.

It will change nothing. UCF still won't be good or make the playoff.

Here in metro Atlanta there were multiple billboards along the freeways back in February that had a picture of Gus and the UCF logo that said: “The Future of College Football is Here!” I just laughed.
There's a lot of shite in Atlanta to laugh about these days

I wouldn't be surprised if he has a good first few years....and won't care. All the streaks that got him fired would all continue if he were at Auburn. A gimmicky offense at a gimmicky school against shite competition will lead to him looking like a better coach than he is. I don't see them winning another National title with him though, he can't develop players

Traffic here is bad enough we don't need billboards to make people laugh and cause more wrecks than we already have

year in and year out he is going to be good in that league. The other teams dont have the athletes across the board to do in space what the top teams in the SEC would do.

Gus while at Auburn as HC did not win a natty right?

No, the problem is that Saban was across the state at the more well known program.
I didn’t love Gus, but his expectations were stupid and ignorant. The likely best college football coach of all time and best recruiter of all time was across the state in a state of 4 million people. People expected Gus to routinely overcome that, in the hardest league schedule wise and the most competitive league in regards to recruiting at probably the 5th or 6th hardest school in the league to recruit.
Auburn fans are our own worst enemy, the expectations are absurd. The buyouts and salaries are absurd.

Judging from the response you’ve garnered from Barnies this early in the morning…
